    CA - Kim Barrett, 38, Oceanside, 26 July 2010

Okay, I find this incredibly odd, police can't say if it is murder or suicide. Who climbs into the trunk of their car to kill themselves:

I suppose the police must consider all possibilities, but that would be a seriously weird way to commit suicide.

Kim Barrett remembered as 'amazing volunteer, social worker, mother and friend'

Barrett was working as a program coordinator for Casa de Amparo, a home for abused children in Oceanside

Barrett also served on the board of directors for The Crime Victims Fund

Barrett also worked for the San Diego nonprofit Interfaith Shelter Network

Her energy, expertise and infectious smile changed lives

    I'd say.
I have never heard of a suicide where the person got into the trunk of their car to kill themselves that way.

Thank you, I agree.... Certainly does not strike me as the type whom would load herself into her trunk to die

I have seen one or two cases where the person was found in the trunk and they ruled it a suicide. Like my daughter said, if someone was od'ing and didn't want to take a chance on being found in time to be saved, the trunk would be a good hiding place.

OTOH, I'd like to know more about WHY her b/f reported her missing. He reported it at 11:20 that morning. How long had she been gone?

I'd also like to know IF she lived in that area or just parked along there? There's lots of condos along that street and limited parking at the complexes.
(one of my daughters lives in that area)

I hope they release the final results. Of course if it's toxicology reports they're waiting for, it could be quite a while before the results are released.

At the end of this article, there's a couple of posts by someone who claims to be the victim's ex. He also says the woman's son is now 19.

Whatever happened, my condolence to the family.

Her husband is responding to lots of the FB posts...either truly in mourning or a total sociopath, nothing in between...
    Just my opinion, of course.

it looks like he is just trying to share what a beautiful person she was. It doesn't seem strange to me but the way she died does seem strange.
