The Los Angeles Times states that he was wearing 'turquoise pants, a gray sweatshirt with cut-out sleeves and tennis shoes with ink markings'.

Are there any updates regarding Michael Ray Askren? I am wondering who has been ruled out. There is a similarity to a John Doe who was found in Ohio on 11/17/1981. here's the link. https://www.ohioattorneygeneral.gov/Files/Law-Enforcement/Investigator/Unidentified-Remains/Doe-1983.

The features are similar, abdominal scar, facial similarities. However the eye colors are not an exact match. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Would very much consider submitting this as a potential match. Notes on the file for the UID state 'The victim bore tanning pattern indicative that he had worn bikini style briefs. The tanning pattern that the victim bore was indicative of a warmer climate such as California, Mexico or Arizona.'

Michael is missing from Rosemead, California. Good find.

Details of Disappearance

Michael was last seen at his home in Rosemead, California on August 6, 1981, two days after his seventeenth birthday. His parents were separated and he lived with his grandparents, while his mother lived in an apartment nearby with his younger brother. He left home at 6:00 p.m. to go for a ride with a friend, and has never been heard from again. His friend said he dropped Michael off at home, but no one else saw him.

Michael was originally thought to be a runaway, but he had no prior history of runaway behavior and would always let his loved ones know if he was going to be late. He left all his belongings behind, including the new clothes he'd gotten for his upcoming school year, and had only $30 in cash when he left home.

Now he is considered to be missing under suspicious circumstances and the possible victim of a homicide. His case remains unsolved.

The "friend" sounds like suspect number 1. No one saw him return so the friends story could be a lie. I hope LE checked him and his car thoroughly...but since he was considered a runaway I doubt it.
