JUNEAU, Alaska – A plane carrying nine people crashed amid southwest Alaska's remote mountains and lakes, killing five people on board, authorities said Tuesday. Former Sen. Ted Stevens and ex-NASA Administrator Sean O'Keefe were believed to be aboard, but it was unclear if they were among the dead.

I lived in AK from 1995 til 2007. Have friends in Dillingham and a brother in law that works for Northern Air Cargo. Hoping for the best.
 
ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Dave Dittman, a former aide and longtime family friend of former Sen. Ted Stevens says Stevens was killed in a plane crash near Dillingham Monday night. Nine people were on board, including former NASA Chief Sean O'Keefe. Five people were killed in the crash, but other identities were not known, nor are the conditions of the survivors

Terrrible..........I hate hearing about plane crashes. Hopefully, there are some survivors.
 
The pilot was Terry Smith, retired Alaska Airlines pilot. His son-in-law was killed in a plane crash just two weeks ago. Very sad.
