SACRAMENTO - Authorities are asking for the public's help in locating a missing child they believe is at risk.
The Sacramento County Sheiff's Department says they're concerned about the whereabouts of 5-year-old Kailyn May, who is believed to be with her 41-year-old mother Sheri Lyn May and the mother's boyfriend, 55-year-old Joseph Loescher.
Authorities said toxicology reports on the mother returned positive results for drugs and marijuana when the mother and daughter went to a local hospital after the mother fell down.
Hospital staff notified Child Protective Services, but the mother and daughter left with Loescher before officers could arrive.
Authorities say the three, who are from Fair Oaks, are believed to be driving an older model, white Jeep Cherokee.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department.
