This is an animated chart of the progression of U3 unemployment rates by county between January 2007 and today..... disturbing to see:

Wow.

I'm one of those people and I cannot begin to say how tired I am of hearing people (NOT on this forum) talk about how anyone who is unemployed today is just "lazy" and "doesn't want to work."

Anyway, to stick to the topic and stop venting a bit, this is quite scary to watch.

Wow is right! Though I'm not surprised. I am unemployed right now. I relocated with my husband because of his job, and the market is TIGHT! Ultra-competetive.

We can get by on his salary, but I'm not lazy and I want to work! :) I am saddened by the chart though, and I know there are a lot of people that are hurting because of the market right now.

Most impressive clip. Its surprizing to see it, yet we are still seeing people out spending in the malls and restaurants are full. Go figure.

That is my exact same story! I get a bit from freelance work when I can, but no way could we pay our bills w/out fiance's job. Writing and editing jobs and communications jobs are hard to come by.
