Australia - Dead baby found in shoebox, Sydney
August 19, 2010 2:21PM
RESIDENTS of a Sydney apartment block, where a dead baby was found stuffed inside a shoe box, have been questioned by police about recent pregnancies.
It was lying in a garden of the property, near a pathway.
Police have not confirmed any details of the box's contents, other than saying it was suspicious.
It has been taken away for forensic analysis.
However, media have widely reported that a dead newborn baby was inside.

Tv reports have just now confirmed that it was a newborn baby in the shoebox.
What is wrong with people who do this kind of thing? Surely they know they have so many other options than dumping a baby like a piece of trash.
I don't understand it, and hopefully I never will.

How incredibly sad. Who would think you would ever hear such a thing?
RIP little baby.
Not much new news on this poor little baby. A baby girl. Umbilical cord still attached. It could have been a passerby who left her there as opposed to someone who lived nearby. This is the same block where a student had been murdered.

But looking at the map, it's weird that the baby was dumped in a unit block when there is a reserve on the very same street. Whoever did this must have been in a hurry, or she wanted the baby girl to be found.
So, so sad.

The baby girl, whose remains were found in a shoebox in Sydney almost two years ago, was buried Thursday morning in a rose-covered coffin. She was called "Bridget," after the Irish saint Bridget of Kildare, the patron saint of babies.
Police still calls on Baby Bridget's mother to show up, saying authorities are not after making an arrest, but providing "closure."
