Skyline prepares for start of school year without Kyron
Posted on August 19, 2010 at 7:53 AM
Updated today at 8:05 AM

Portland Public Schools spokesman Matt Shelby told KGW as long as Kyron remains missing, nothing will ever be completely back to normal at Skyline. But teachers, principals, administrators and parents have been discussing how they can make it as normal as it can be.

Many parents have said they dread the return of reporters and photographers on campus. But Skyline parent Don Kruger said he knows that’s all part of the new reality at the school, given the situation.

“I think we're going to go back to school the first day and the media is going to be across the street and there's going to be a lot of attention,” he said. “But I think we're kind of used to it and I think we'll be ok.”

Classes will resume on September 7th but school officially opens next Monday for registration.

PORTLAND, Ore. - Investigators have learned they have reason to believe it was not DeDe Spicher, the friend of Kyron Horman’s stepmother Terri Moulton Horman, who was seen in a truck the morning Kyron disappeared, according to sources.

Investigators are working on following up on tips they received since last week’s news conference about the person seen on June 4. Those tips are in addition to the 4,000 they have collected so far.

They also want to know if a third person is tied to Kyron’s disappearance.

According to sources, investigators have witnesses who saw an adult in and around the truck in front of Skyline School between 8:15 and 8:45 that morning.

Investigators aren’t identifying the gender of the person in the truck but have reason to believe the person may not be Spicher.

Focus On Pickup Continues In Kyron Case
POSTED: 2:20 pm PDT August 19, 2010
UPDATED: 3:06 pm PDT August 19, 2010

Investigators have reason to believe that DeDe Spicher might not have been the person spotted in a white pickup truck the day 7-year-old Kyron Horman vanished from his grade school, FOX 12 has confirmed.

A Multnomah County district attorney said at least one witness saw a person or people associated with the Ford F250 truck that was driven by Kyron's stepmother, Terri Horman, on the morning of June 4.

Detectives now believe the mystery person could be someone else entirely, FOX 12 has learned.

The search for Kyron: What DeDe Spicher's ex has to say
Story Updated: Aug 19, 2010 at 3:31 PM PDT

Wishert said Spicher was incredibly accountable to her cell phone, so reports that she was unreachable at certain times on June 4, the day Kyron disappeared, do strike him as strange.

"It was so unlike her to not answer her cell phone," he said. "And then to not account for it. Why would you not account for it if you're straight up, if you've got nothing to hide?"

When asked whether he knew that Spicher knew Terri, he said no, saying Terri may have been part of her larger network of friends, not all of whom he knew.

Wishert said he believes Spicher's loyal nature may have prompted her to help Terri somehow, but not in a way that would involve harm to a child, and that Spicher comes from a good family and was raised right.

"If DeDe was involved and if she was involved from the onset, then Kyron Horman is still alive," Wishert said.

"I knew her very, very well," he added. "She never got ugly. I never saw a mean side to her. I never saw a vindictive side to her."

One of the tips Wishert said he shared with investigators was related to Spicher's aunt's property, which searchers have already scoured for clues. The other relates to something he chose not to discuss because he believes it is an investigative matter still pending.

Kyron Horman case update: Report says DeDe Spicher’s interview contradicts source information (video)
http://www.examiner.com/crime-in-na...nterview-contradicts-source-information-video
Recently, DeDe Spicher, a close friend of Terri Horman, the stepmother of missing Oregon boy, Kyron Horman, was interviewed by People magazine. According to one report, the information Spicher relayed during the interview contradicts source information.

KATU reports that “The contradiction goes to the heart of what Spicher was doing the morning Kyron Horman vanished.”

Kyron Horman grand jury quiet - for now
Posted on August 19, 2010 at 7:15 PM

For weeks, a parade of witnesses came and went from the Multnomah County Courthouse.

Kyron Horman's parents testified before a grand jury along with others surrounding the seven year old's disappearance.

Since then, there's been little news from this secret panel.

In addition, a judge's order restricting any photography of witnesses coming and going from the grand jury room has expired.

So does this mean the Grand jury is done?
