Good Afternoon, I'm Capt. Jason Gates with the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office.

I have a short statement for you we have a great deal of investigative work going on today. But because there is not much in the way of new public information to release, we will not be taking questions in this briefing.

Search and rescue crews are out in the field again, checking some more specific locations. Those locations have been identified based on phone tips and investigative leads. This will continue through the day.

At this time, there has been nothing of significance in terms of results to report to you.

We have an update in terms of the school interviews … We are now approximately 90 percent completed with interviews of all the students at Skyline Elementary School. Those interviews will continue today. If you are a Skyline family and have not been interviewed by one of our investigators, please call us. We know that you are waiting to receive a statement from the immediate family. We are working with them constantly through the day, and when and if they are ready, we will make it happen.

The FBI has posted Kyron's info on its website. You can find that by going to www.fbi.gov/wanted.htm Finally, tips are still coming into the tipline, but we need more.

Please, if you have any details – even things that you feel are insignificant – please give the investigators a call and let them decide. We are planning for another briefing at 4 pm. If that changes, we will let you know.

I was reading through the comments and one commenter said this, "@ "bobknows" Got some information you want to share with the cops?"

And anther said this, "So bobknows, when you say you don't believe mom took him "to school" what do you mean? I know that sounds like a stupid question but isn't the science fair at "the school" where everybody saw him there, if she didn't take him to school, how did he get his picture takin there in front of his project?"

I read through the 12 comments and there is not a comment there any longer by "bobknows." Hmm. I wonder what was said.

My notes from the noon presser

- 90% complete with interviews. LE will continue to contact those who haven't come forward. Asks that they come forward.

My notes on the 4pm presser video:

- LE continuing to work with the family on their statement to be released tomorrow

- 99% of interviews with children done. "majority" of school staff and parents done.
* Not giving a percentage on school staff and parents

- says Ben Keefer calling it a "criminal investigation" was a "grammatical error". won't be a criminal investigation until there are crimes that can be defined.

- "Well, what I can tell you at this time is that we have no reason to believe at this point that this is anything other than an isolated, uh, case." Gates

- "Well, based on the information that we've got, what we're dealing with, we have no other details to suggest otherwise." Gates

- "To this point, the leads that we're being provided would not suggest that it would be a national search at this point."

- again says FBI offered their help, rather than was called in

- people can live two weeks out in the elements etc

- Gates "my hope is that we're going to have this wrapped up by the end of the week"

- Gates "We're telling parents that, you know, what we tell any parents that's concerned about, you know, their children and their safety when they're not right by your side and that is to...

it's a good thing, you know, educate your children with regard to...

you know, I can talk in general terms...

I don't want you to get the impression and I certainly don't want reported that I said that this is the way it is...

but you know, we should always be talking to our children about things like stranger danger...

you know, how to protect themselves when they're alone, you know, travel in groups and buddy systems and those types of things...

you know, I wouldn't say that parents need to do anything other than they're already doing with regard to realistic things that they can be doing to protect themselves, and you know, it's on a daily basis."

Sunday, June 6 - 8.58 a.m. Terri Moulton Horman posts on Facebook to say she has ordered missing-person fliers: "I ordered 1000 fliers, they will be coming to our house. I will let people know when they are here and we can go from there. Thank you everyone."

Fewer than five parents have indicated that they are seriously considering pulling their children out of the K-8 Skyline School permanently, he said.

I wonder what the school said to those parents, and if they did pull their kids out.

So, they were working all possibilities, and they had nothing that told them it was not an isolated case, which would be a pattern, a serial crime.

I wonder what kind of information would tell them it was serial, rather than first time, other than the obvious - like a perp who always leaves a stick of Teaberry gum at the scene e.g.

Unless they mean that no other crimes in the state, or in the PNW, for example, had shown any similarities. Something like that.

So, whoever did this is likely a first time offender. But I'm not entirely comfortable with that, because of the number of multiple-time offenders who have gone years without being caught.

I sure wish I knew for sure if Terri failed her first poly, got an inconclusive, or passed. I'm going on the assumption she failed, which makes me really want to know what questions or types of questions she flubbed up.

ETA: That was not an *entirely* random thought. It just looks like this is the timeframe in which they began to really hone in on Terri, and I'm trying to figure out how they got there.

I know LE rules in and rules out people, situations, evidence, everything, until 'what happened' begins to clearly surface. So I'm trying to pinpoint what they had ruled out, and what they had not been able to.

I just do not understand this statement... It makes it sound like Kyron went to his Grandma's house for the summer.... And this was just 4 days after Kyron vanished. IMO

I wonder if "isolated case " refers to the fact that Kyron vanished inside his school. Perhaps,that, combined with the possibility that LE thought Kyron was killed inside the school, would prompt them to believe that Kyron alone was targeted, was singled out by someone..... ? They did,after all, even search up on the roof of the school. It really seems that the thinking was that he never left the school ?

Above BBM. There are several whose opinions are what "got LE there"[honing in on Terri at such an early stage in the case] was quite possible K. Porter's account/info when spoken to by LE[most likely afternoon of the 4th]..

Meaning that it is a very good possibility that K. Porter's "version" of the conversation that took place between her and Terri, or what Terri's statement to K. Porter[either way you want to look at it] it still is quite possible that Porter's version of what was said by Terri to her in regards to a dr.appt was crystal clear, no mistaking, nor no misunderstanding of Terri's exact words to her about the appt. Unlike what Terri has implied[herself in the email] saying that Porter confused her saying that she was going to look at projects with she was taking Kyron to the dr. appt with K****(and saying how could you confuse the two) and then you have Jamie Finster saying that Terri told her that the teacher was new, hard of hearing, and confused what was said about the dr. appt being on Fri. the 4th when Terri had said Fri. the 11th. Either way even if you completely DISCOUNT Finister's statement because of hearsay, Terri is STILL THE ONLY ONE suggesting that there was confusion on the part of the teacher, Porter.

So, I'd say there is a very good chance that Terri could have lied about the confusion[and I think we all know what the motive would have been] on the part of Porter misunderstanding and/or confusing what Terri had said to her.[given Terri has lied about several things thus far]
There are many who believe that unlike what Terri has said and painted as the "picture" representing what was said to Porter as being confusing, that the truth is Porter was NOT CONFUSED AT ALL, NOR DID SHE MISHEAR what Terri said about the "dr appt". More like she knew from the moment the words left Terri's mouth and reached Porter's ears EXACTLY what Terri stated about the "appt".

Per Terri[from the email]the statement was made the morning of the 4th during the SF. That is literally within a few hours of when Porter would recount the statement to LE. It would be extremely "fresh in her mind" of what was said and my own personal opinion of the statement is that IT IS FOREVER ETCHED IN K.PORTER'S MEMORY and would not be surprised if etched verbatim of what Terri's words were to her on the morning of Kyron's disappearance.

So, given that K. Porter would have told LE exactly what statement was said to her by Terri just hours before, that Terri told her she was taking Kyron to the dr appt along with K****[again this is what Terri says Porter's account was per her email on June 5th].. My self and others opinions are that this very important, and IMO very damning piece of evidence given to them by Kyron's teacher was the leading deciding factor that put the focus of the investigation on Terri from so very early on[or "honing" in on Terri]
