Canada - Carol Hodge, 64, Peterborough ON, 9 Aug 2010Hodge, 64, has been missing since at least Aug. 9. City police Insp. Tim Farquharson said officers have been working full-time on the case since police first learned of her disappearance. <snip>
Hodge's disappearance was first brought to police attention by her son, Michael.
He hadn't heard from his mother for several days and asked officers to check up on her.
When they first arrived at her home there was a pile of newspapers at the door and her dog was shut in the master bedroom. The television in that room was turned on.

This is news from 4 days ago:
Police search at Curve Lake
City police Sgt. Deb Gillis said Hodge often travelled to Curve Lake to purchase cigarettes. Pictures of her have been put up in stores in the community.
Police also plan to re-canvass Hodge's neighbourhood later in the week.
Hodge had hired someone to cut her lawn, Gillis said, and police are hoping to speak to that person.
Hodge's disappearance is still classified as suspicious, she said, but police have no evidence that any foul play has occurred.

Known sex offenders to be interviewed in disappearance
City police will be digging into the backgrounds of people who knew Carol Hodge and knocking on the doors of known sex offenders as they continue their search for the missing 64- year-old.That Hodge preferred to pay with cash, instead of debit or credit cards that can be tracked, and often carried a lot of money with her, is also hampering the case.
Still no sign of Carol....or her car. If she simply went out somewhere and decided to go for a walk along a trail, or went to the reserve to buy some cigs, as she was known to do, you would think at least her car would have been found. Perhaps she drove off the road. It doesn't seem like she would have been planning to go for long, since she locked her dog in her bedroom.

Police hunting for missing woman's car
Hodge often travelled to Curve Lake to shop. Police are checking River Rd. for any signs of skid marks or an indication that Hodge's vehicle may have veered off the road.
Police are going to be doing another aerial search soon, Lyons said, hopefully with the help of the OPP helicopter.
"It's got to be somewhere where it can't be seen," Lyons said.
This weekend marks the last week of boating along the Trent- Severn Waterway and water levels will drop when the locks close, he said.

A woman's psychic vision may have helped investigators find Carol Hodge's vehicle in the Otonabee River.
City police actively sought tips from the public during their investigation into Hodge's disappearance.
Staff Sgt. John Lyons said one of the people who came forward was a woman who had had a vision suggesting that Hodge's vehicle was in the Otonabee River, close to Lakefield.

Hodge's car OK, body not confirmed yet
By SARAH DEETH, Examiner Staff Writer
Updated 3 days agoPolice have been unable to confirm the identity of the body found inside Carol Hodge's vehicle.
The missing silver Honda Civic was pulled out of the water Saturday.
Hodge, 64, was reported missing Aug. 9 after her son hadn't heard from her in about two weeks.City police Sgt. Deb Gillis said the vehicle appears to be mechanically sound.
"So we're trying to see if we can get the black box examined," she said.
Investigators were hoping that a post-mortem examination Tuesday would identify the body found inside the vehicle.
That didn't happen, mainly due to the condition of the body. We're just trying to determine how the vehicle got into the water, accidental or otherwise," Gillis said.
