Since the last status hearing, George and Cindy Anthony have obtained new legal counsel. Attorney Brad Conway stepped down after the defense filed a motion saying that Conway viewed those TES volunteer records before the defense had an opportunity to so and that Conway wasn&#8217;t even a party to the current criminal action. Conway says he was invited by attorney NeJame to go over those records out of compassion for grandparents George and Cindy Anthony. NeJame told Conway that if he saw anything of interest to tell the Anthonys

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Attorneys will be in court at 1:30 p.m. to go over agenda items in the case. Anthony, 24, is not expected to be there.

Later this week, Anthony's defense team is expected to depose 35 people, including Orange County homicide detectives, agents from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and members of the U.S. Secret Service.


Anthony has pleaded not guilty on first-degree murder charges in the death of her daughter, Caylee. Her trial is expected to begin in May.

Casey's attorney, Jose Baez, also fired back about recent comments a lawyer made about him.

"I know I'm competent, I know I'm doing what's good for my client and, what's more important, she does, and so does my team. So I could really care less what a lot of people say," Baez said.

Casey's lawyers have scheduled more depositions for Friday. They plan to question nearly three dozen law enforcement officers. Those depositions must wrap up by September 30.

Also, Casey's attorneys filed a new motion Monday that changes their witness list. The list now contains 64 witnesses the defense plans to call at trial, which include George and Cindy Anthony, Casey's brother Lee, and Casey's ex-fiance, Jesse Grund.

Robin Lunceford, the inmate who tried to discredit two of Casey's jailhouse pen pals, is not on the witness list.

Orlando, Florida - Casey Anthony waived her right to appear in an Orlando courtroom Monday, as Judge Belvin Perry made sure it was emphasized on record that this trial will begin on the date that has already been set.
Judge Perry reiterated the May 2011 start date, telling both sides they must meet all court-ordered deadline dates for depositions, evidence review and additional witnesses.
Casey Anthony is charged with first-degree murder for the death of her two-year-old daughter, Caylee. Caylee's remains were found in late 2008, months after her family reported her missing.

Jose Baez, lead counsel for the defense, told Judge Perry they were moving forward, but also cited concern at the slow pace at which they are getting information from the State. As an example Baez mentions a phone call allegedly between Casey and Erica Gonzalez in July of 2008. The defense says Gonzalez was a co-worker of Casey's at the Fusion nightclub.
