SALISBURY, Md. - Twenty-one-year-old Alex Arroyo-Flores has been missing since Friday evening.
His parents are besides themselves wondering what happened.
"Did he have a medical event, did he get car jacked, did he get abducted, did he get into an accident," said Felipe Arroyo, Alex's Father.
The family just returned from a trip to Puerto Rico. Everything was completely normal.
Alex was due in at work at the McDonald's in Fruitland at 5:00 p.m. Friday evening.
After never coming home that night his parents later found out he never made it to his shift.
"That was really unsettling because he's never done that, he's pretty responsible going to work," said Arroyo.
Alex's parents are especially worried because he's a Type 1 diabetic, and requires medication multiple times a day.
"If you are not to get the medication as a Type 1 insulin dependent diabetic you will definitely go into high sugars, most probably a coma, then death," said Candy Burns, whose been a Nurse Practitioner since 2004.
There has been no sign of his car, and his cell phone is not on.
But both mom and dad are hoping for a safe return.
"We're waiting for the car to show up and just come in the driveway," said Wilma Flores, Alex's mother. "We're desperate, we want Alex to be home," said Arroyo.
Alex was last seen driving a Silver 2007 Toyota Corolla with Maryland Tags 2ER E21.
If you have any information on his whereabouts call the Wicomico County Sheriff's Department at 410-548-4890.
