ORLANDO, Fla. -- The judge in Casey Anthony's murder trial warned her attorneys to stay on schedule.
Chief Judge Belvin Perry gave them more time Thursday, to take depositions from law enforcement officers. Casey's attorneys have repeatedly canceled the depositions.
“I can put anyone on the list if we think they're involved in potentially discoverable evidence,” said Anthony defense attorney Cheney Mason.
Evans said he would be glad to give the Anthony defense team a sworn deposition to prove he has no information to provide.
Evans said his status as a defense witness could lead to his disqualification as Kronk’s lawyer.
“A monster task,” WOFL-Ch. 35 anchor Cale Ramaker called it.
The defense team in the Casey Anthony case deposed several dozen people today.
“The defense says that today every person they deposed worked for the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and their mission was to weed through who’s going to be important in this case and who’s not,” WOFL’s Holly Bristow said.
ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - "35 depositions today? How is that going to work?" That’s what FOX 35 asked Casey Anthony's attorney Jose Baez as he walked into the State Attorneys office Friday. "Very methodically," replied Baez.
A few of the 35 subpoenaed had scheduling conflicts, so there were just more than two dozen of the state's witnesses that had to answer questions under oath from Casey Anthony's defense team.
A segment on the death penalty segued into a Rivera editorial on Casey Anthony, who is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee. The bit on Anthony played right before Rivera looked back at the Beatles. It was the night Casey opened for John, Paul, George and Ringo.
Rivera decried the death penalty because of a “largely imperfect system that sometimes places a higher priority on getting a conviction than on seeking the truth about whether or not someone actually committed the murder for which they are about to lose their life
