** Please note that it's important, since we'll be reviewing a variety of information, that we don't turn this into a General Discussion thread, and cause more work for our mods. The goal is to look for new information, information that now has more meaning to us than it did earlier, and document it here, so let's stay focused!

If we want to discuss possible meanings of what we find, let's do it in one of the discussion threads, so we can stay focused on our fact finding mission here.

MCSO Press Release #1:

Multnomah Co. Sheriff's Office MULTNOMAH COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE IS HOLDING A BRIEING ON FLYER THAT IS BEING DISTRIBUTED TO PUBLIC

Posted: June 18th, 2010 11:46 AM

Photo/sound file: http://www.flashalertnewswire.net/i.../36184/061410.SchoolQuestionnaireadobe.hm.pdf (Flyer)

Multnomah County Sheriff's Office Captain Jason Gates will provide a briefing on the attached flyer that is being released today to the public. This flyer has been distributed to the Skyline Elementary staff.

The flyer is attached to this briefing notice

The briefing will be held Friday (June 18, 2010) 2pm at the Skyline Elementary School (11536 NW Skyline Blvd., Portland, OR 97231).

MCSO Press Release #2:

Captain Jason Gates Statement 06-18-10

First, we want to dispel any rumors that Kyron has been located. He has not yet been found and we ask the community to continue looking. Kyron, we are still looking for you.

These erroneous reports have come through the social media. We ask the professional media to please continue to verify information with our PIO Lt. Mary Lindstrand before releasing. We don’t want false rumors to harm our investigation efforts and they are harmful to Kyron’s family as well.

The search continues and the investigation is continuing on several fronts.

I cannot comment on specifics but Can say that our detectives and searchers are continuing to follow-up on many leads to include establishing and verifying information relating to Kyron’s activities prior to his disappearance

As reported in the press conference on June 14 we are initiating a second canvas of everyone who was at Skyline School on June 4 in order to ensure that we reach every person who was present on that day:

Detectives work in this case is exhaustive and they, along with Kyron’s family, are asking for the community’s assistance regarding anyone who saw not only Kyron, but also who may have seen Terri Horman and/or the truck she was driving that morning. Terri is the last person known to have seen him before he disappeared.

Statement from Kyron Horman's Family

It has been two weeks since our son, Kyron, disappeared. For the last 14 days we haven’t been able to talk to him, see him playing around the house, or tuck him in bed. Any parent would understand the grief this has caused our family.

We are so grateful for the support and work of the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office as well as the hundreds of searchers, police officers and FBI for what they have done during the last two weeks. They have never met Kyron but we know that this has been very tough on them also.

To Kyron’s teachers and classmates, as well as the media and the community, thank you for your support in trying to find Kyron. Your interest and help is overwhelming.

We are sorry that we aren’t there today to stand with investigators, but please know that we fully support the release of this flyer. We want Kyron home and we hope this will help do that.

Father’s Day is Sunday. For the first time in seven years, we will not have Kyron around to hug and talk to. It hurts us deeply and our hearts are broken.
Please help bring Kyron home.

News articles for June 18 can be found in Kyron's Reference Forum, in the Today's News thread for that date here:

From the press release above:

As reported in the press conference on June 14 we are initiating a second canvas of everyone who was at Skyline School on June 4 in order to ensure that we reach every person who was present on that day:

Detectives work in this case is exhaustive and they, along with Kyron’s family, are asking for the community’s assistance regarding anyone who saw not only Kyron, but also who may have seen Terri Horman and/or the truck she was driving that morning. Terri is the last person known to have seen him before he disappeared.

In the video, he goes on to say the second canvassing is for "all adults and children that were in the school or on the school grounds specifically" from 8 to 4 on June 4 to fill out the questionnaire, even if they've already been interviewed:

http://www.flashalertnewswire.net/i.../36184/061410.SchoolQuestionnaireadobe.hm.pdf

The questionnaire file has one form for children, and one for adults. It has always struck me, that there is only one question on each regarding Terri.

The majority of the questions are about Kyron.

In the presser video, Gates says that at that point, some of the people had already been interviewed 2 and 3 times, but they still want them to fill out the questionnaire.

Again, just to note, the date for this is June 18.

Quotes from LE (Gates) in the presser video:

- "Terri's being cooperative."

-6:42 Terri is the last known person to have seen Kyron before he disappeared.

-2:20 We're hoping that because she was here at the time that Kyron disappeared and with him and I mean it's naturally she'd be with him, she brought him to school

-1:40 She's associated with the case because she was, you know, the last person to see Kyron.

http://www.kgw.com/video/featured-videos/Briefing-on-new-Kyron-flier-with-stepmom-96685544.html

There is only one question about the truck on each of the questionnaires in the file:

Children's form: Did your child see a white Ford F250 pickup truck on 6/4/10 at or near the school?

Adult's form: At any time did you see a White Ford F250 Truck at or near the school?

Finster said Horman had told Kyron's teacher the day before that she was taking the boy to the doctor on Friday, June 11, and gave the teacher paperwork to fill out related to the appointment.

Finster said that when Kyron didn't show up at the bus the afternoon of June 4, Horman talked to the teacher who said she thought that Horman had taken Kyron to the doctor that day. Horman told Finster that the child's teacher was new, in her first year of teaching, and was hard of hearing in one ear. "She doesn't know if she understood her," Finster said.

It's so bizarre. A reporter at the press conference said something about noticing there were "a lot of questions" about Terri in the questionnaires. Looking at the news articles for this date, a lot have the same "theme". And yet there was only one question on there about her.

From another Finster article:

With Horman's blessing, Finster was telling the public how emotionally harmful the Internet remarks have been; such as the person who commented, "It seems like a slam dunk that the stepmother is ... guilty."

Some comments online included the speculation that Horman was suffering from a "postpartum breakdown."

"I would really like to see the Internet blogging be decreased," said Finster. She added that there was much yet to learn in the investigation and to imply that a second lie-detector test on Horman was a sign of guilt was unfair to a woman who played such an important role raising Kyron.

BBM. Was telling the public how? Was telling the public where?

Scores of questionnaires from the parents of Skyline children were turned in by Sunday afternoon, giving investigators new clues to study as they try to untangle the mystery of the disappearance of Kyron Horman.

While most of the surveys were returned on Sunday, some parents had emailed them in earlier and sources told KGW that they were receiving fresh information and fresh leads to pursue.

This is the one that's getting me, Terry is the last person known to have seen him before he disappeared, not in the school, as per Terry. Question about Terry at or near the school
Question about white ford F250 at or near the school. What time did you see Kyron, who was with Kyron, where was Kyron. I think LE was informed of seeing Terry, the truck, and Kyron, by the school, (access road maybe) before the first flier was sent out.MIO

If Terri left Kyron in the hallway as she says, and nobody saw him after that, then was still last known person, although someone may have seen her walking alone to her truck, getting in, and driving away, which would have placed her near the truck.

But the thing is that TP said that he saw Kyron by his class, and as per his grandmother, saw Terry leave the school, alone. This is why I'm thinking Kyron left out the back door, unseen. If he met terry outside at the truck, she would again be the last one to see him that day, correct?

Terri is the last person known to have seen him before he disappeared.

We are releasing this info at this time in hope that it helps jog peoples memory of that day. This information is being provided after discussion with the family. All of the family members have agreed that bringing this information forward is the right thing to do for our investigators.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kyron's family - (including terri) have agreed, that:
1.Terri is the last person known to have seen Kyron.
2. releasing this statement and the flier is the right thing to do.

To me this is big big big.. In order for le to have made these two statements. terri would have had to agree to them..:waitasec:and this was a full two weeks after kyron disappeared. (shake head icon here)

I guess I'm just lame, if TH says she left Kyron at 8:45 and LE knows TH was the last person to see Kyron at 9:00. Then LE MUST have a witness who saw both TH & Kyron at 9:00, INSIDE the school. Because, according to LE, Kyron was last seen INSIDE the school at 9:00. And TH was, according to LE the last known person to see Kyron.

I don't see them contradicting themselves (LE), they must have a witness that saw TH & Kyron inside the school at nine, and being that they KNOW TH was the last known person to see him, that would be 9:00, not 8:45. Were not the children to be re-assembling in their class rooms into groups at that time? If so, WHO is their witness? WHY is this part of the timeline so darn confusing?

Seems to me, LE KNOWS that TH was the last known person to see Kyron AT 9:00 because they have a witness. They also said (and that may change because of newer tips/testimony of course) that Kyron was last seen INSIDE the school. I don't know why this seems so darned unclear. Well, LOL, as much of the rest of the case does for that matter.

sbm....

To le, they say they know terri was the last known person to see kyron. what they don't know, i believe, is if terri was the last person to see kyron.

I don't know about le having a witness. If we can believe that gates' statement from June 18th pc is true - by Terri's own admission, she believes she WAS the last known person to have seen kyron. What time le thinks this occurred, i don't know.

Okay, maybe it's gramatics that are confusing me. LE says "Terri was the last KNOWN person to see Kyron." which of course, means some UNKNOWN person COULD have seen him, but WTH would that mean? Why say something like that?

They ALSO say "Kyron was LAST seen at the school INSIDE at 9:00". So please, explain to me, if they know of no one else saw Kyron, after 8:45 (according to staff and TH) who in the heck saw Kyron AND Terri INSIDE the school at 9:00. Terri? It's really hard to move forward from some of these, what really should be simple, statements. I'm still heavily stuck on the teacher, Ms. Porter's account, and TH's account of the doctor's appointment also. Did she, Ms. Porter, ever make a statement herself as to whether she received paperwork from Terri or not? I don't know, maybe LE has all this info put on hold some where in some hinky file, but it makes it really frustrating to try and go forward when some of the simplest answers haven't been presented. I still wonder if the school isn't covering it's own butt, to the point of ........ I don't know what.
