Hi all! This is in my neck of the woods. It's too soon to know whether it's male/female but we do have a few women missing from hiking in Marin.

Authorities are investigating the discovery of a skull and other human remains found this week below Battery Spencer in the Marin Headlands and U.S. Park Police are treating the area as a crime scene.
On Monday a kayaker saw a human skull about 25 feet above the water line and reported it to park police.

Early Tuesday a team made up of U.S. Coast Guard and National Park Service personnel made it to the site - about 600 feet below the battery - and found the skull, bones, jewelry and clothing. The remains were sent to the Marin County Coroner's Office.

"The gender is not known yet," said Golden Gate National Recreation Area ranger George Burgerian. "It's an ongoing investigation."

Park police planned on rappelling down to the site Friday morning to see if they could find more remains or evidence.

Battery Spencer in the Headlands is a popular place to take in vistas of San Francisco and the Gold Gate Bridge. Below it is a sheer cliff where the remains were found, Burgerian said.

Thank you for bring up Kristen --if it turned out to be her, her family could finally finally have some sort of closure.....

Could it be ...

Stacey Lee Lynch?

or
James Howard Boyle?

They went missing 27 years ago from that very spot. Given that clothing was located, I would suspect that it wouldn't last that long on a cliffside next to the ocean.

A few others ...

Crystal Ann Fox

Not specific as to what parking lot her car was parked in.

Kayoko Tomoikari

Her car was parked near the south end of the bridge. She would have had to cross the bridge from where she parked her car.

Not specific as to where near the Golden Gate Bridge she was last seen.

sadly with most people, the golden gate bridge is a suicide destination. I went to high school with a kid who took that route. He didn't die on impact but of complications from hypothermia and his injuries in the hospital hours later.

Judging from this, the road to get up there is one that you would have to either have known, or took literally the first exit you saw. Im from the northern bay area and used to visit SF every weekend. The exit from the highway is a quick one, blink and you miss it.

This had to be either an accident, or a murder. I wonder how many abandoned cars they find along the road here yearly?

this UID is not in Namus so I wonder if the remains have been identified.

The decedent has been identified as Michael Anton Kusdieh, 25 of Larkspur, CA.

Kusdieh had been missing since 2002

Interesting that there was still clothing on the body after 7-8 years.

the article is quite fascinating actually on the method by which they came up with their composite information on this UID. they had his age wrong (he was 7 years younger than the low end of the given range) but they correctly identified possible Middle Eastern ancestry.
