June Clonch saw the blurb on her daughter when the magazine hit newsstands Wednesday. On a page adjacent to her daughter's photograph, June noticed a picture of Elizabeth Smart embracing her parents.

If I'm reading correctly the Clonch's weren't even contacted before People Magazine ran their daughter's picture.

Samantha has been missing almost 11 years. Come home soon sweetie.

Middle picture is age progressed to 18
Right hand picture is aged progressed to 20.

I had seen it mentioned previously on Websleuths that Samatha shares many characteristics to this unidentified female found in Oklahoma. Samatha is not on the list of NAMUS ruled out. https://identifyus.org/cases/5192 Someone in my missing Facebook group pointed out the similarities today.

DNA for Samatha now says "Sample submitted - Tests complete"

Also, only other stuff I can find is that Samatha's father Richard died when she was 6, so that explains why he's not really mentioned in any articles.

Details of Disappearance
Samatha was last seen in Henderson, Texas on September 9, 1999. She left her residence en route to her eighth-grade classes at Henderson Middle School that morning. She was supposed to go home right after school was out. She never arrived home and has never been heard from again.

Authorities initially believed Samatha left of her own accord and possibly left the country, but the circumstances of her disappearance are unclear. Few details are available in her case.

Apparently, the family or investigator was notified they were using her photo.

Magazine Revives Missing Teen Case

Pierson is grateful People Magazine called to do the missing child spread. But he's reluctant to believe it will solve his longest standing case.

"I don't know how they came up with her name out of all those missing kids," Pierson concluded. "It will be a blessing if it works. But I've learned not to get my hopes up."

According to police, Samatha was last seen walkin to Henderson Middle School. It was believed that she had an older boyfriend who could possibly have carried her with him to Mexico, but nothing was ever proven or discovered. To be honest I don't even remember newspapers broadcasting her disappearance, but I was young and possibly missed the search.

RUSK COUNTY, Texas (KETK) Ms. Samatha Lynn Clonch has been missing since 1999.

She went missing from Henderson at the age of 13. Currently, she would be 33.

Ms. Clonch is white/native American, 5’6”, and weighs about 110 pounds.

Samatha left to go to school on the morning on September 9, 1999 at Henderson Middle School, and was expected to come home right after.

Officials say she never made it home and has never been heard from again.

Back in 2009, Henderson Police said it had been rumored that she could have gone to Mexico of her own accord, but nothing could be confirmed.

And way too many years have gone by. I do hope she's safe and will be reunited with her family.
