Retired firefighter interviewed says it looks like a pressurized gas line of some sort. The smoke is most likely from structures.

Now it's being said a plane went down. UPDATE: Airports are not missing any planes.

Firefighters are responding to a huge fire burning on a hillside in the San Bruno area. Many residents have reported seeing a plane go down. Others felt a huge shock wave, and heard an explosion. Entire city blocks are on fire in a residential neighborhood and evacuations are taking place.

A caller states its not the gas station on fire, he can see the gas station. So it has to be a plane. Everyone heard a explosion. Terrible, just terrible for those people.

Retired PGE says it looks like a gas transmission line. Takes time to shut down so they don't cause a break somewhere else.

Reporter at airport says no reports of planes going down. Faa has no reports of planes going down.

Ahhhhh, guy getting his family out saw two ladies with third degrees burns running down the street. He said just standing outside the heat was intense. He was originally 1/4 mile away in his car and when the explosion happened he felt the intense heat in his car.
