Kirk has been missing for 32 years now. His family hasn't stopped searching for him and hopefully they can get answers soon.

I found Kirk mentioned in an article Hope Is Riding on Milk Cartons from 1985. It doesn't detail his disappearance though, just that he will be featured. It incorrectly lists his age as 13.

New Technology Aims To Find Those Who Vanished Long Ago from 2013 is the most recent article I could find on him.

As CBS 2’s Maurice DuBois reported, new computer-generated images show what people who vanished many years might look like today.

For example, 30 years ago, Lila Quintons’ 11-year-old son, Kirk, disappeared during a trip to a store just two blocks from his Bronx home. His family still searches for him, looking for any clues.

“It is a pain that never goes away ’cause you think about it all the time,” Quintons said.

Apparently he had 5 brothers. He seemed to be a street smart and independent 11 year old kid in a rough neighbourhood. Bronx in the 80's was no joke. Think his family was hispanic. PR or Dominican probably.

Small jobs for who? the store owners? Guess he was quite famous kid in that neighbourhood since he was doing these small jobs.

Why was he collecting bottles? for money?

I tink he was abducted by somebody he knew and trusted in the neighbourhood. Perhaps lured to the abandoned lot for money and then killed. I think the perp was right there all the time. Perhaps even questioned by the police. But seems there was very little interest in this case in the first place.

I wonder if this guy still lived in the neighborhood in 1983? This incident happened in 1973.

A week after Steven’s murder the New York Times announced the first named suspect in the case; Daniel Olivo, age 30, arrested for the rape of a 5-year old boy in a Bronx park on August 20th, three days after the Cropper murder.

After luring the child to a secluded area on the pretext of playing ball
Olivo pounced on the victim and committed an act of sodomy.

The child managed to escape after the attack and alerted his father, a hot dog vendor stationed nearby.

According to the Times, Olivo—standing 5’7” and weighing 140 pounds—was “Hispanic in appearance” with a pockmarked complexion and noticeable limp.

Investigators were unable to develop any information linking Olivo to the Charlie Chop-off crimes, however, and he was eventually dropped as a suspect.

Details of Disappearance
Kirk departed his family's residence in the New York City borough of the Bronx at approximately 12:00 p.m. on September 18, 1983. He was walking to the Top Tomato Supermarket in the 800 block of Rosedale Avenue, where he earned money by performing various small jobs.

Kirk's mother sent him to the supermarket to buy her a can of soda. He was last seen collecting bottles from a vacant lot near the store, which was two blocks from his home. He has never been heard from again. Kirk was a seventh-grade student at the time of his disappearance. His case remains unsolved.

something that came to mind while looking at that map was all the cars around in that area. it made me wonder if he got in a car with someone or even a delivery truck.. then I also noticed how Soundview Park is not that far and neither is the Bronx river.

Yes, and it is so close to a highway that goes a bunch of directions. Its so close to the on-ramp, that if you had your car pointed in the right direction, you could be on the highway in probably under a minute. In the middle of the day, on an intersection like that one, someone would have heard screaming if it was a snatch and grab. This leads me to believe he left willingly with someone who was probably using a ruse. Given the close proximity to the highway, it seems plausable that this was a hunting ground for whoever took him. He seems to be a good possible match for the John Doe from Boston in 1988.

This is Kirk Quinton's other age progression. Could he be Clayton Doe?

At the time of his disappearance, Kirk Quintons was a seventh-grader at Intermediate School 174 in the Bronx and was last seen in the vacant parking lot near the Top Tomatoes supermarket at 831 Rosedale Avenue. According to his mother, Kirk swept the floors and packed boxes at the store to earn extra cash––he would save some of it and use the remainder to go see movies at the theater. On October 9, police received word of an additional unconfirmed sighting of Kirk at Rosedale and Soundview Avenues but further investigation revealed the callers had in fact seen Kirk's twin brother, not Kirk.

As they say, I think he was kidnapped by someone he knew... maybe quickly murdered or maybe abused... why hide the body? If they already murdered him... I think we will never know what happened to this little boy...
