DATE & TIME OF INCIDENT: Victim was last seen Friday evening, September 10th.

LOCATION: 3064 Rt. 122, Sheffield

VICTIM: Mary Pat O’Hagan, age 78, Sheffield, VT

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

Earlier today the Vermont State Police received a report of a missing elderly woman from Sheffield. A concerned neighbor reported that Mary Pat O’Hagan, age 78, had not been seen since last evening when she arrived home and parked her vehicle in her driveway, which is still at her residence. Ms. O’Hagan missed an 8:00 AM meeting with a friend this morning, which is uncharacteristic of her. Ms. O’Hagan is known to walk a lot and is an active member in her community.

Ms. O’Hagan is described as follow:


Race: White
Height: 5’
Weight: 136 lbs.
Eye Color: Blue
Hair Color: Grey

It is unknown what Ms. O’Hagan was wearing when she was last seen on Friday evening. A photograph of Ms. O’Hagan is attached.

The Vermont State Police is asking the public if they have seen Ms. O’Hagan since last evening, to please call the State Police St. Johnsbury Barracks at 802-748-3111.

SHEFFIELD -- A missing 78-year-old Sheffield woman -- known as an active, beloved member of her community -- was likely abducted from her home in the center of a rural Vermont town, state police said Tuesday.

At a press conference, Pat O'Hagan's son tearfully appealed to the public for help in finding his mother, three days after she was reported missing from her home.

"Pat was well known in the community, she was very active. If you knew where she was, what she was doing, what she may not have been doing, please come forward, it's going to help us," said Terry O'Hagan, 47, of Groton, Mass, surrounding by his three brothers and three aunts. "We know that somebody's out there that knows, whether you're involved, whether you're not involved, whether you know, please come forward and help us."

This is disturbing. It sounds like LE has evidence that she was abducted. Makes me think of my grandmothers, no they would be 100 something now, come to think of it Pat O'Hagan is younger than what my parents would be. I hope they find out what happened soon. :(
 
State police probing the disappearance of a 78-year-old grandmother are appealing for help from anyone who took photographs or video at a Labor Day event her son says she attended in her tiny town.

Pat O'Hagan worked as a volunteer at the Sept. 6 event in Sheffield, a town so small it has no stores and no stoplights, her son Shawn O'Hagan said Sunday. Police are following up on all avenues in their investigation, he said.

Pat O'Hagan, a widow and grandmother of nine, was reported missing from her home Sept. 11, just days after the Sheffield event, when a friend arrived to pick her up for a rug-hooking meeting and she wasn't there.

Police believe she was abducted from her home. Authorities say she's mentally alert and there's no reason to believe she wandered off.

Detectives continued following up leads over the weekend. Area all-terrain vehicle clubs and volunteer fire departments pitched in.


On Sunday, state police asked to hear from anyone who recorded images at the annual Sheffield Field Day event. But the police would have no further comment on their interest in the event, spokeswoman Sgt. Tara Thomas said.

FBI agents have joined the search for O'Hagan, with police combing corn fields, barns, abandoned buildings and a quarry in the dairy farming community, to no avail.
