I believe this MP is alive and well. After doing a "peoplesearch" I found an alternate last name of Del Bene which is associated with the name Elizabeth Mondelli, at the correct age, living in another part of NY with a family. From there I did a google search of her by the name "Elizabeth Mondelli Del Bene" and found... she is on Facebook!! She has an open profile so you can see her pics... she does not have any FB friends with the last name Mondelli, is it possible that nobody has seen this yet?? Or that it turned out not to be her? Or that she is found and nobody has been notified?? Help!

Need some eyes on this to see if the consensus is that it's her. There are some photos on her wall in addition to the profile pic... I do find it hard to believe nobody would have noticed this yet..... so I'm skeptical.

I contacted her brother, this turned out not to be her. :(

Good work Odessey, I'm sorry it didn't turn out to be her.

I emailed Lori Bruski at Namus about the possibility of Elizabeth being the Jane Doe found in Van Cortlandt Park South. No DNA is available for the Jane Doe found in the park so they'd have to exhume the remains to test. I wondered whether she was buried on Hart Island along with loads of other unidentified and unclaimed remains and I found this searchable site:
http://a073-hartisland-web.nyc.gov/hartisland/pages/search/search.jsf

I searched from early august to september 1990 and I think the correct record appeared:

Last Name N/A
First Name N/A
Age 35
Date 08/23/1990
Location VAN CORTLAND PARK SOUTH

Maybe DNA would be degraded too much in the mean-time to prevent doing a comparison. I don't know if they have a photo of the dead woman to help confirm or deny ID.

Elizabeth Mondelli was last seen in the Canarsie section of Brooklyn, New York on July 22, 1990. She planned to pick up her daughter at the daughter's aunt's residence on East 101 St. at the time of her disappearance. Elizabeth was in the Daytop Drug Rehabilitation Facility in Swan Lake, NY for treatment. She left the program to visit her daughter. Elizabeth arrived as scheduled. She was last seen entering the residence on E.101 St. and has not been heard from since. Though no evidence was found, the family believes she was the victim of foul play and presumed murdered. I just noticed that Elizabeth was compared to the woman found in Van cortlandt Bronx. I wonder how they were able to rule her out?

Biscuts222 mentions above there was no DNA available. I had been looking again at the possibility of Elizabeth being the Bronx woman. But I guess not.
