Vital Statistics

•Date of Birth: September 13, 1980
•Age at Time of Disappearance: 2 years old
•Height and Weight at Time of Disappearance: 30"; 32 lbs.
•Distinguishing Characteristics: White female. Light brown shoulder length hair; hazel eyes. Right eye crossed.
•Marks, Scars: Brandi has a vertical scar on the right side of upper lip and nose.
•Clothing: She is believed to have been wearing a yellow jacket with hood.

Circumstances of Disappearance
Brandi was last seen in Nipton, California on October 7, 1982. To date, Brandi has not been located.
During the investigation, detectives uncovered information that Brandi may have been kidnapped and murdered.

Several items that were missing when Brandi was taken were a stuffed learning teddy bear, a blue blanket with an embroidered yellow duck and a multicolored patchwork blanket.

Just curious, does anyone know why there is no information on this case? They have her name, but where is the information on her parents, like when she was last seen and was she living with her family or was she in state custody? That sort of thing? I can't find anything on her living situation at all. There is no mention of her family life before her disappearance at all, and there has to be something out there, they know her name and age, which means they have to at least know her mum is.

Wish we had more information on her disappearance.
In light of Kamiyah Mobley & the Yates being found, I hope this is how it turns out for Brandi, too.
 
Bit strange that a kidnapper would take the time to take her blankets and toys too, if this was a middle of the night, stranger through the window type kidnapping.
 
All right, just looked on Charley Project and there is some more info. The mother was at work and her boyfriend was looking after the child. When the mother got home, child and boyfriend, blankets and toys were all gone. Police issued an arrest warrant for the boyfriend, Daniel Waters, but when he was found there was no trace of the child.

Wow, that's new information, because before all it read was that investigators suspected she was murdered but I didn't find a reason why. Adding that the boyfriend took off with her and then was found without her makes sense now as to why.

I am in contact with Brandi's older sister, who is still looking for Brandi and trying to get the information on the case out. She seems happy to answer questions, and has more pictures of Brandi that she said she will upload to submit to the Charley Project.

I already submitted Brandi as a potential match on that set of remains because investigators are insisting DNA be done manually for some reason. So, if you come across any other MP's that fit this UP, definitely submit it.

The boyfriend being left with the child then he was later located and did not have the child seems odd. Or we just do not know the full story ...

No, I haven't heard anything, but I hardly ever have any follow up unless to tell me that an MP was already ruled out.

I agree with you, KO. Brandi is a good potential match for the decedent UP# 10561. She’s still not listed in the exclusions.
 
Brandi’s disappearance bothers me a great deal. Her mother’s ‘boyfriend’ of just months disappears and allegedly abducts Brandi from CA, possibly transporting her over state lines to NV, and she is never seen again. The alleged perpetrator needs to be investigated by the FBI — and not only at the time of Brandi’s disappearance. I suspect there were/are other victims. It smacks of grooming, child trafficking and, possibly, child exploitation.
