    N. Idaho Man Accused of Breaking 2-Year-Old Boy's Leg

Here we go again. Two days ago a 1-yr-old beaten to death by a BF, today 30 miles away we have a "fiance" accused of breaking the leg of a 2-yr-old boy.

And like the Cooley case in Spokane, not the first time he's been suspected of injury to a child. Hopefully the story on this PREVIOUS case due back in court for preliminary hearing Oct 8 on felony charge for Injury to a Child will come out as the media gets to investigating.

    The developing story...

and current case for an arrest on injury to a child in April, 2010, from the Idaho repository. Mostly a drunk behind the wheel (that we know about) prior to this:

This poor baby had previous broken bones the link states that had to heal on their own. He broke his femur!!!!!!!!

Way to go, Ma. Good lookout in the feeeants department. Allowing some "man" to break your child's bones?

Yup. And they updated the story to indicate this guy is the father. Odd thing though, the initials of the minor child he can't get within 500 ft of -- last initial doesn't match with either his last name, or hers. Still no update on what the April 20 arrest was about, but the protection order times with the "new charges" filed after this baby was brought into the emergency room this past Saturday.

No other local media has touched this one yet, but I'm sure there is more to the story, and doesn't look like any of it will be good unless a judge throws the book at him.

Update on the story, with reactions from the child's maternal grandparents, defending their daughter and calling Edinger a monster, which he clearly is. Still have to wonder how the previous breaks the doctor found evidence of on X-rays escaped mom's notice.

Think the last name here might be the one matching up with the "C" on that poor baby, but that's pure conjecture. KREM never refers to Edinger as the father although KHQ identified him as such after updating their original story.

ETA: Statement might not be from maternal grandparents. IF Edinger is not the biological father, and this woman is not quoted as being mom's mother (my presumption, my bad), they could be paternal grandparents, thus the baby would have had their last name. In other words, none of these stores clarify any of their relationships very well, with the exception of the mother.

Found another story on this. Different angle. Led to mom's MS page (will reserve comment for now and see how this plays out, but appears this poor baby isn't an only child and in jail is where this POS needs to stay).

After watching video on KREM story, Ms Cook comes across as protective mother and I think she is indeed RM's.

Horrific way to find out the fiance and son-in-law to be was anything but what he portrayed himself to be. Scary how the monsters rarely look like one, until it is often too late.

previous story from the Spokesman, from their blogs. Note that although a "blog" it is written by the same reporter who did the above story under their City section a day later.

Really bothered by the fact the baby's leg was broken on Friday (hopefully VERY late Friday night), but that he wasn't taken to emergency until Saturday (hopefully VERY early Saturday morning).

"Mullin said the boy was out of their sight when they heard a loud scream and found him at the bottom of a stairway."

We know now that story was changed to reflect she was protecting him because they knew they'd be questioned and she believed his story of the baby haven fallen down stairs.

Not that it is any excuse, but I don't think the economy helps. At least for anyone subject to "going off" it is just one more stressor.

Wish I had the answers, but I really wish both women and men would take a good long close look at a potential partner before they move them in with their kids or leave them on their care. That won't stop it, but it will surely save some children from suffering abuse and being murdered.
