Why would mom let the baby leave the wedding with a drunk father?
Then she goes home and waits 10 plus hours before calling police?

    Good lord.

Looks like they can't find their SUV either. I hope little Dylan is just sitting safe and sound inside the SUV. (Not that being inside a car alone is a safe place for a child. But compared to our other options...it's not sounding too bad.)

If Dad was THAT drunk I doubt he hurt the kid.

It sounds like he probably left the kid in the Lexus, maybe asleep. They need to find that car, NOW. I know nobody actually know the answers to these questions... but these are what occurred to me.

Can he open the doors to the car himself???

Does it have any type of GPS for if it gets stolen that they can activate?

Have they tried dogs to track the child's scent from the location of the wedding?

Does Dad have a cell phone and if he does, did he have it with him when arrested? If he didn't, does it have any type of GPS?

If he has a cell phone, whether he had it when arrested or not....have they checked the pings to see where he went that night, to try and find the vehicle?

The path from where they were at the wedding, to where Dad was found... has that been thoroughly searched?

Wait a minute... Do I really have this right, 300 block of east green street... this is not even a half a mile from where they left the parking structure?

Why have officers not been able to do a grid search to find this vehicle in this area?

If you just go straight up, it's a 3 minute WALK.

    http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sour...,0.006899&z=17

What am I missing here??? In 10 hours they haven't been able to search that area for a vehicle?

This is one that I would be out looking on if it was in my area, this is not a huge area to search compared to others. They should be asking everyone to actively look for this vehicle. There is real hope that this kid is okay if they can just find him in time.

If he is still INSIDE the vehicle... it has been LESS than 70 degrees since last night and will be for the next 72 hours. If he's outside... it's also going to be raining.

Come on people... get out there and look for this vehicle and this child.

It's unbelievable that they can't find this little guy. And, how difficult would it be to find the car? I wonder if the dad left the car sitting there with the keys still in the ignition, considering how intoxicated he was. Perhaps the Dylan woke up.....got impatient and scared and climbed out of the car...wandering about. Surely someone would see him. Or, if he stayed in the car and then someone stole the car, I'm guessing they wouldn't want to be responsible for a 3 year old and would drop him off somewhere obvious.

Surely we'll hear some good news soon!!!!

3-year-old boy missing after dad arrested for public intoxication in Pasadena

    [snip]

The father, 23-year-old Joe Kurihara, was arrested about an hour later by Pasadena police for public intoxication as he was walking alone near 300 E. Cordova St., a short distance from where the boy and car were last seen, Pope-Givens told City News Service.

    [snip]

The missing car is a 2001 silver four-door Lexus sedan, with California license plates 4UHY191. Police asked reporters to publish and broadcast pictures they circulated of the boy and the car.

Kurihara is currently held at the Pasadena city jail on $10,000 bail, according to Los Angeles County Jail records.

At 8 a.m. today, Pope-Givens said, Pasadena police received a call from Dylan’s frantic mother, who had been calling hospitals and police stations looking for her son and her wayward domestic partner, Kurihara.

    [snip]

“We think the boy was in the missing car, but we’re not sure,” Pope-Givens told CNS.

    [snip]

“I don’t know if there are any other children in that household or whether there is any history of domestic abuse or child abuse involving Kurihara,” Pope-Givens told CNS. “That will all be part of the follow-up investigation into this case.

“Our immediate concern is to find the child and Kurihara’s missing Lexus, because the child may still be in that car,” she said.

Frantic search underway for missing 3-year-old boy "lost" by allegedly drunk father in Pasadena

Dozens of officers and volunteers were frantically combing Pasadena neighborhoods Sunday evening for a missing 3-year-old after discovering that a man arrested for public intoxication was the boy’s father and that the boy was nowhere to be found.

    [snip]

“We’re canvassing the area," said Janet Pope Givens, a spokeswoman for the Pasadena Police Department. “The knock and talk is still going on.”

    [snip]

Kurihara and the boy had attended a wedding at a Masonic lodge in Pasadena. The boy’s mother also was at the wedding and said she saw the father leave with the boy. When she hadn’t heard from either of them for hours, she began to call police stations and hospitals. The woman, whose name has not been released, reached the Pasadena police at about 8 a.m. Her call immediately launched a search for the child and the car.
