Reporter: 13 News

Topeka (WIBW) - Shawnee Co. authorities say they do not suspect foul play in the discovery of a dead body Monday night along Hwy. 24.

Deputies say a gas company worker inspecting a line found the body around 5 pm in a wooded area off Hwy. 24 east of the Topeka city limits, in the bluffs area just before the K4 interchange.

Deputies say the victim had a gunshot wound to the head and they found a gun near the body, which leads them to believe it was a suicide. They say the body may have been there a month or more and the person was not recognizable. They would not release any information on a possible age, gender or race
