Woman's body found in desert south of Tucson

The body of a young woman was found today in the desert south of Tucson.

A bicyclist spotted the body about 7 a.m. in a remote desert area near East Summit Street and South Country Club Road, south of Tucson International Airport, said Sgt. Matt Ronstadt, a Tucson police spokesman.

While the incident is being investigated as a homicide, police say it's too soon to tell how long the woman's body has been in the desert

Woman found dead near airport girlfriend of man killed Saturday

The death of a woman whose body was found in the desert south of Tucson has been connected to the slaying of a man who died Saturday night, police said.

Mayra Hermania Hermosillo, 28, whose body was found in a desert area near Tucson International Airport was reportedly the girlfriend of Jesus Ricardo Ceballos, 20, who was shot to death Saturday night on the west side, according to a Tucson Police Department news release.

Body found in desert identified

TUCSON - The body of a woman found in the desert Tuesday morning has been identified as Mayra Hermania Hermosillo, 28, of Tucson. Hermosillo was the girlfriend of the late Jesus Ricardo Ceballos, who was shot and killed on Saturday, October 23, 2010 near the intersection of South San Antonio and South Mission Road.
