CANADA Canada - Jodi Henrickson, 17, Bowen Island BC, 20 June 2009

Bowen Island is close to Vancouver - I hope that Jodi is ok - her parents must be frantic.

The article says:

She was last seen June 20th between 4 and 6 a.m. after attending a house party on Bowen Island with friends.
Can we edit the date in the title of the thread?

She was reported missing on the 24th.

One comment on the story states:

To those making comments "Why did it take the parents 4 days to report it" Jodi told her parents she would be home Monday the 22nd OR Tuesday the 23rd - They reported her missing on the 24th which is only 1 day to report her missing not 4! Stop blaming the parents that's just cold... think before you speak.

Missing Squamish teen had 'no contact' order against ex-boyfriend

Gavin Arnott, 20, was convicted of common assault on June 5, stemming from an incident on April 8 in Squamish. He was given 18 months probation and was ordered to stay away from Henrickson as part of his conditional discharge.

Rob also said his sister's ex-boyfriend attended the same house party as her on June 20.

Doesn't sound good.

Any news on this case? Have they pulled the ex-BF in/ questioned him/ given him a poly?

Last Seen chart suggests homicide, a crime of passion/revenge. Jodi's birth data may help me confirm or refute if I can get it.

The son/boyfriend is staying off the island and his father is claiming no involvement. The father is also downplaying the assault charges against this guy.
"Arnott said his son admitted he and Henrickson got into a fight the night she disappeared, but the younger Arnott insisted he walked away – and that was the last time he saw her."

Yeah, for some reason, I don't believe him.

Missing teen hasn't left island, RCMP says

For Bowen Island residents celebrating Canada Day, the troubling question was as clear as the police helicopter sweeping the skies and officers searching properties.

What has happened to 17-year-old Jodi Henrickson?

It's been 11 days since the Squamish teenager was seen at a house party on the Howe Sound island, and the RCMP have cryptically said they do not believe she has left the community with about 3,500 permanent residents, a 15-minute ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay.

“We have 11 days of no contact, which is very out of character and unusual. We're just plugging away and working as hard as we can to get any clue or evidence,” said RCMP Corporal Dave Ritchie, who is speaking for the force.

The mystery has been the talk of the 56 square-kilometre Bowen Island.

Henrickson search continues

BY CARMEN CHAI, THE PROVINCE JULY 2, 2009

Squamish RCMP are continuing their search for Jodi Henrickson by investigating several tips they've received about the missing girl.

Police scoured Bowen Island for hours on Wednesday, focusing their search on the neighbourhood around Scarborough and Eaglecliff roads.

They came back without any new leads, said RCMP Cpl. Dave Ritchie.

"Searches are done when we locate items of interest or information that is relevant," he said.

Police plan on following up on several tips they received to continue their investigation.

One tipster said they saw Henrickson as far east as Calgary, but Ritchie said that tip was also a dead end.

Family of missing B.C. teen says shift focus from ex-boyfriend
Last Updated: Saturday, July 4, 2009 | 12:25 PM PT
CBC News

The brother of a teenage girl from Squamish, B.C., who has been missing for two weeks says too much attention is being paid to her former boyfriend.

Jodi Henrickson, 17, was last seen around dawn on Bowen Island after attending several house parties on June 20. She was reported missing four days later when she failed to come home to Squamish, approximately 60 kilometres northeast of Bowen on the mainland.

One of the last people who may have seen her is her former boyfriend, Gavin Arnott, 20. He has been in the media spotlight since news broke that he was charged with assaulting Henrickson in April.

Arnott, a resident of Bowen Island, was given a conditional discharge for the assault and sentenced to 18 months probation. The conditions were that he have no contact with Henrickson, complete counselling and anger management, surrender any firearms in his possession and that he be prohibited from possessing any firearms for five years.

Police have said they are not focusing on any one person in their investigation.
