CBC News
Sabrina Patterson, 25, was last seen entering a Riverview pub on Oct. 30.
The Codiac RCMP has said she has been missing since and has not contacted her family. (RCMP)

The RCMP are confirming that two missing persons cases in southeastern New Brunswick are related.

Sabrina Patterson, 25, of Riverview and Fred Prosser, 31, of Shenstone have both been missing for several days.

The RCMP would not describe the state of the relationship between Patterson and Prosser. However, Prosser is the father of Patterson's two children.

Codiac RCMP Const. Damien Theriault said the Codiac RCMP and District 11 RCMP are co-operating on the investigations.

Fred Prosser, 31, has been missing since Monday morning, according to the RCMP. (RCMP)

"At this time, we're following every lead that we get and we haven't eliminated any possibilities," Theriault said.

Patterson was last seen by friends at the Moncton Coliseum on Oct. 29 and was later seen on video entering the Fox and Hound Pub in Riverview after 1 a.m. on Oct. 30.

Her car was found at the Riverview Mall, where the pub is located.

Patterson was reported missing on Sunday night, when she failed to pick up her kids, according to a police statement.

Search continues for missing man and woman

Cathy LeBreton - News Staff Nov 03, 2010 13:25:50 PM

MONCTON, NB - RCMP appear to be zeroing in on a vehicle in their search for a missing Hillsborough area man. 31-year-old Freddy Prosser of Shenstone hasn't been seen since early Monday morning. He is believed to be driving a 2004 grey Chevrolet pickup truck with a New Brunswick license plate COT-348. It's believed the truck has the number "31" on the rear driver-side window. RCMP are asking anyone with a photo or video of the vehicle to give them a call. Meanwhile, the search continues to the mother of Prosser's two children. 25-year-old Sabrina Patterson of Riverview was last seen by friends on October 29th as she was leaving the Moncton Coliseum. Her car was discovered in the parking lot of the Riverview Mall and a surveillance video puts her at the Fox and Hound pub at around 1 a.m. on Saturday morning. Anyone with information on either of these two cases is asked to contact the RCMP or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477)

While police would only confirm that Patterson and Prosser are known to each other, family members said Prosser, 31, is the father of Patterson's two children.

Patterson's half-sister, Joni Kim Hicks, described the on-again, off-again relationship between Patterson and Prosser as difficult.

"He loves her. I know he loves her and I know she loves him," Hicks told reporters on Wednesday as family members papered Riverview with missing-person posters.

"We're petrified. We are very, very afraid. The things that have been going through our heads the last few days have been scaring us."

New Brunswick RCMP Staff-Sgt. Gary Cameron said officers from the Codiac Regional RCMP detachment, District 11 and Major Crimes Units are working together to find the pair.

Cameron said officers are also looking for recent pictures of Prosser's truck, which may have recently been repainted. The truck is a 2004 grey Chevrolet pickup truck with the New Brunswick licence plate COT 348.

Metro missing persons cases are related: RCMP
Published Wednesday November 3rd, 2010

A young Riverview mother went missing some time in the early hours of Saturday morning. Her former companion and the father of her children went missing Monday morning.

"We are investigating the disappearances separately, but we're working in partnership with District 11," Codiac Regional RCMP Const. Damien Theriault said.

"At this point, we have no indication of any criminal activity in her disappearance," he said of the search for Patterson, adding "we're not eliminating any avenues."

Sgt. Marco Papillon didn't comment on the nature of the relationship between the two missing people but did acknowledge "they knew each other."

He also confirmed there was a warrant for Prosser's arrest but emphasized it was for a pre-existing court matter, not for any charge laid in light of Patterson's disappearance.

Because District 11 is seeking the public's help, Papillon was asked if there were any concerns about the public approaching Prosser.

"We're not looking for people to go find him and talk to him," he said. "If they know anything about his whereabouts, please contact us."

If you have any information on Prosser's disappearance, please contact District 11 RCMP at 506-387-2222 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Search For Sabrina Patterson Riverview Mall Saturday November 6th at 8:30am

On Saturday November 6th at 8:30am there will be a ground search beginning at the Riverview Mall where Sabrina Patterson was last seen leaving at The Fox and Hound. Sabrina’s sister, Joni Fagan-Hicks has created an event on Facebook on details of the search. Everyone is encouraged to come out and help in the search for Sabrina Patterson.

Everyone is asked to meet in the front of the Riverview Mall at 8:30am Saturday morning. There will be a van there with a large orange light on top so you will know where everyone will be gathering. Also there is going to be alot of media in attendance so I am sure you will all be able to find out where you should be. Apparently as reported from one Facebook member the lead investigator on the case said that due to liability, the RCMP will NOT be a part of this search however, it was his suggestion that people begin their search and focus along the Petitcodiac River and the banks of the river.

Missing New Brunswick man found at home as police still search for ex-girlfriend

The RCMP say 31-year-old Fred Prosser was located shortly before noon at his residence in Shenstone, near Moncton, when officers went to his home to update his family on the investigation.

"We're talking with him to find out what's happened over the last few days," said Staff Sgt. Gary Cameron.

A pickup truck that police were also looking for was discovered near Prosser's residence, but police declined to provide more details.

Cameron said Prosser has also been arrested on an unrelated matter.

"There was an outstanding arrest warrant for him at the time when we located him," Cameron said. "The warrant is not associated or related to the disappearance of Sabrina Patterson."

http://www.cbc.ca/canada/new-brunswick/story/2010/11/05/nb-fred-prosser-charges.html

The former boyfriend of a missing New Brunswick woman was charged Friday with assaulting her and breaking an order not to go near her.

But Codiac RCMP say the charges are unrelated to the disappearance of 25-year-old Sabrina Patterson, who hasn't been seen since Oct. 30.

Cameron said Prosser's pickup truck is being analyzed.

"It was brought in and treated as if it could have potentially been involved," he said Friday. "We're actually trying to eliminate those possibilities so forensics is also going through the pickup truck."

It sounds like LE is purposefully not calling FP a POI. Maybe biding time?

Its pretty suspicious that this "missing" man reappears at home a few days after he was reported missing. And of course, he had a court order to stay away from the missing woman. Not sounding good at all.....

Fred Prosser faces charges of assault, theft and breaching undertaking against Sabrina Patterson

Frederick Bernard Prosser was formally charged yesterday for three offences involving missing Riverview woman Sabrina Patterson, but none of them is related to her disappearance one week ago.

He was brought in on a warrant relating to charges he faces stemming from an Oct. 9 incident. The judge read the charges, which accuse Prosser of assaulting 25-year-old Sabrina Patterson on Oct. 9, stealing her cell phone and breaching an undertaking to have no contact with her and to stay away from her residence.

Prosser is facing another charge alleging he assaulted Patterson, which predates the Oct. 9 charges. He was on a court undertaking to have no contact with her because of that charge and he's supposed to stand trial at a later date on that matter.

Sabrina Patterson's sister Joni Hicks said this week much of the search would focus on the banks of the Petitcodiac River, while Patterson's friend Wendy Macneill said yesterday a search of back country areas and camps was also being planned.

"We're not going to stop until we bring her home," she said. "We need the ATV clubs and other people to come out. We need people familiar with the camps and back roads."

Police say a body has been found in a wooded area near Shenstone, N.B.

The body was found around 11 a.m. Saturday by people travelling in the woods.

Police are on the scene investigating. A positive identification of the body has not been made and police would not comment on whether it was connected to the case of Sabrina Patterson, a Riverview, N.B., woman who has been missing since Oct. 30.

RCMP are holding a press conference in Moncton at 4 p.m. to give more details.

Just FYI, New Brunswick is in the Atlantic time zone, one hour ahead of the Eastern time zone. The press conference is starting in 10 minutes.

I know the family and you're right, it doesn't look good at all. I'm hoping that someone will post something about the RCMP's press conference soon.
