WA- Sex offender, Bruce L. Austin, arrested after 3 children report assaults
another SO who shouldn't be out on the streets...c'mon - a year in the pen is gonna turn him around?
A sex offender has been jailed on child rape charges after three children told Cheney police he’d assaulted them.
Austin (pictured in 2002) is in Spokane County Jail on $250,000 bail, where he was booked Oct. 8 after his alleged victims described the abuse in interviews with child specialists.
Two girls said Austin had molested them while they were at Cheney Baptist Church and at Austin’s trailer.
A boy said Austin had raped him after giving him alcohol and night-time medication.
A news article in 2002 described him as a level 3 sex offender who served a year in prison after pleading guilty to sexual misconduct with boys. He has a previous conviction in Alaska for sexual abuse of a child and first-degree sexual assault.

Those poor kids. The two little girls went to his trailer because they went to Church with him.
Can you even imagine being attacked by this creep and then having to go to Church?
Oh and according to this new release he wasn't registered on Spokane's registry. One year. A lousey one year.

dang - WS just ate my post! OK, I'll try again - maybe I had too many caps. LOL
This is another of those cases where we hear about the kids that ratted him out -- and wonder how many didn't.
This scum is OBVIOUSLY a DANGER and needs to be LOCKED UP for decades!

And we wonder why our children are abused, raped, and murdered?
There is no mystery to why our children are assaulted and murdered when perps like this are given a slap then set loose, once again, on our children. How many children did this guy molest that didn't come forward? Will any of these child victims act out their rage on other children when they get old enough, will the crime perpetuate itself into the giant monster we're living with today? I think it's a possibily.
The good news is - there's a cure for the filthy morass our justice system has become in regards to anyone who assaults our children. Firstly, we can sentence them to death and/or life in prison without parole. How, you may ask, can we do that when the judges are giving out such light sentences? GET RID OF THE JUDGES. It will take work, but people need to find out why such light sentences are given and by whom. The next step is band together and either vote them out OR band together to get them impeached. Yeah, it will be hard, a lot of work, but what's at stake here is the lives of our children.
Until we, as parents and society as a whole, are willing to put our money and our time where our mouths are and go after the root of the problem, our children will keep on suffering the consequences. I realize things aren't "quite" as simple as I've stated, but things are "almost" that simple and straight forward. I think we need to light a few torches and start sticking them into dark corners to ferrett out what lives there.
My opinion only

And just think of how these kids will associate church w/ their abuse.
These pedo monsters that target kids via a church are endangering their spirituality...that's just so wrong!

About as wrong as the priests, ministers, youth ministers, and Sunday school teachers who prey on the innocent. Wasn't there a serial killer who was a deacon in the church?
There are a LOT of dark corners in our world that need illumination.

Ya know, I try to talk to people about sex predators, but the only ones who can really stand to have a conversation about it are those who were abused...most folks won't talk about it at all...I understand - it'll churn the stomach just thinking about it.

Maybe some of us should stand up in the church building one Sunday morning and preach our own sermon or, barring that, hand out tracts by the door. We could start off with judges who hand down such light sentences to people like Austin, move on to the damage done to children by pedophiles, then move on to deviants hiding in plain sight within the church.
If we don't get arrested the first week, we could bring a few friends and more "in depth" pamphlets. Probably just a dream, but someone has got to start somewhere. Here's a great link I found from watching one of the crime channels. I believe this woman is doing a wonderful work:
