FL - Ex-Priest/Alleged Pedophile Neil Doherty Back in Jail (Nov 2010)
Neil Doherty -- whose long, sordid story was recounted in a 2008 New Times cover story -- was arrested last night in Palm Beach County. Doherty is an alleged serial abuser of children who has been walking free while awaiting trial since his 2006 arrest. Police apprehended Doherty because he "failed to comply with pretrial-release conditions," according to State Attorney's Office spokesman Ron Ishoy. Just how Doherty failed to comply is unknown; according to Ishoy, he may have left the area unlawfully or initiated contact with his victims, among other infractions.
In 2005, the parents of "John Doe" -- who, in our story, was referred to as "Sam" -- brought a civil suit against Doherty and the Archdiocese of Miami. The specifics of the complaint are horrific. "Doe" was befriended at age 9 by Father Doherty after the two met when Doe was playing in a field beside the priest's church, St. Vincent's, in Margate. Doe plied the boy with cigarettes and liquor and drugged him with Qualuudes -- early in their friendship, Doe passed out on Doherty's couch and awoke with a bleeding anus, according to the suit.
according to this article, Doherty was out of his house for 17 minutes!
The 67-year-old lives in Lake Worth, where he is on house arrest and wears an ankle monitoring bracelet. It's a condition of his bond as he awaits trial on charges he drugged and raped a boy he met at a Broward County Catholic Church.
According to deputies, he left his home without permission for 17 minutes, which is a violation of his pretrial conditions.
there's plenty of articles on this sicko -- he's been raping & molesting children for decades -- pleeeeease, Florida - lock him up!!
8-page article.......*8* pages, for crying out loud!! Doherty is a monster! (oh, and warning - there's a few crude words in this article.)
Sam's family was not wealthy. His allowance was $5 a week, and he dressed in hand-me-down clothes his older brother got from a thrift store. But he says Doherty was willing to finance the boy's drug habit, which had progressed to heroin.

Poor Sam. Poor Jorge Soler. You have to wonder how many other victims there were that died of an overdose or on the street.
Just like a pedophile. He'd sometimes give little Jorge Soler $200.00 and then other times he couldn't get a dollar out of him. Control crap. Keep 'em coming back. You're strung out on heroin and the guy won't give you a buck? Typical. Typical.
Well, at least they busted him within 17 minutes the old pervert.

And people wonder why men show up at the priestly "old folks home" and beat the putty out of a pedophile who says he doesn't remember them.........

Lake Worth ex-priest accused of sexual battery to be evaluated for competency
Neil Doherty violated electronic monitoring eight times, official says
FORT LAUDERDALE —
A retired priest who is facing sexual battery charges will be evaluated by a psychologist after officials say he violated the terms of his pretrial release numerous times.
Neil Doherty, 67, of Lake Worth, was put back in jail last week while authorities determine his competency.
Doherty had been free on bail and under house arrest, with electronic monitoring, while awaiting trial. But he left his home for at least 17 minutes last month, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office. Doherty told authorities he was attending a funeral when the GPS monitor lost contact, a sheriff's spokeswoman said.
During a hearing Monday, a pretrial release officer said that when Doherty was disconnected from his GPS tracking system last month, it was the eighth time.
"Anybody else would be in jail," Broward Circuit Judge Ilona Holmes said. "What concerns me are the violations in the past and the defendant's age. There may be something there." ummmm - ya think??!!!

Meanwhile his victim or seven years has to walk around out in this world dealing with his past abuse and wondering if he might bump into this guy because maybe his age has something to do with him conveniently forgetting he has a GPS bracelet strapped to him?
Lord forgive me but can't they make it everytime he decides to forget he's going out of bounds he gets zapped by a few watts? Make that alot of watts!
