We all need to remember that for almost every single person missing, there is a family member waiting and hurting. Prayers for Crystal and her family.
 
Major case squad investigator's said they are getting good leads that may help lead to solving the case of murdered Crystal Terpening.

LE appealed to the public for any information they may have that can help them. They have gotten quite a few calls.

However, he did say investigators are confident Terpening’s murder will be solved, “The best information I can give is that there’s a very strong focus with the investigation, and that’s where we’re headed.”

GB the investigators who are combing thru the crime scene, and prayers for Crystal's family as they all deal w/ the horror that was done to her.
 
On the Antinette Keller thread a poster pointed out that another woman's body parts were found down state in Illinois in November. AK went missing in DeKalb, Illinois on October 14 (CT went missing about the same time as AK). I went looking for any new info about CT's case and I found this thread. The only new information I found is the following article that reports that CT's boyfriend and father of her son tried to kill himself by overdose not long after her body parts had been found. There are no new facts about the investigation into her murder. They said earlier that there were some leads. :waitasec:

Nothing came up when I searched to find an answer to what happened to Crystal. The last mention of her case in the press is dated November 11. In the article they state that the Major Case Squad is still on the case and was looking into some leads. They usually stay on a case for only five days. :waitasec:

Now, almost two weeks later, still no answers. I hope they keep on this case and that the perp who killed AND CUT UP a woman is caught and taken off the streets.
 
She is from my area too. This is so sad. Attempted rehab several times too. I heard rumors today but not sure about posting.

There is several women from the area missing.

Joshua Tharp, 27, is charged with first degree murder in the slaying of Crystal Terpening, 26. Terpening was last seen by her family on October 12.

Police eventually arrested Tharp on December 21.. The investigation determined that Tharp first met Terpening on the night of October 12, where they subsequently got into an argument at his residence at 222 Virginia Street in East Alton.

During the argument, prosecutors alleged Tharp struck Terpening, killing her. The coronoer ruled that she died from blunt force trauma. Tharp allegedly later dismembered her body near his residence and left it at the site where it was eventually found in November.

sentenced Monday to prison terms totaling 55 years after pleading guilty of the first-degree murder and dismemberment of 26-year-old Crystal Terpening in East Alton in October.

Associate Judge James Hackett sentenced Joshua J. Tharp to consecutive terms of 30 and 25 years, respectively. Tharp must serve the entire 30-year sentence for murder but would be eligible for parole after serving half the sentence for dismemberment.
