Prince Albert police dig for evidence in historic cold case
BY JOANA DRAGHICI, PRINCE ALBERT HERALD NOVEMBER 5, 2010
PRINCE ALBERT— City police began excavating a patch of land just north of Prince Albert on Thursday. They were looking for evidence at Little Red River Park that might lead to answers in the disappearance of a Prince Albert woman more than 31 years ago.
"We're acting on some information in regards to a historic case involving a missing woman — with today's technology, there are new avenues (that) allow us to investigate further," Staff Sgt. Tim Settee said a few steps from the yellow police tape sectioning off the digging site.
June Ann Johnson was 34 years old when she was last seen Aug. 3, 1979, when her daughter dropped her off at what used to be the Marlboro Hotel.
