Not only was Trevino arrested for murdering his own baby daughter, the article goes on to say "Liliana's death is the second case of child abuse police investigated Thursday. In the evening, police arrested Matthew John Resendez, 19, in connection with injuries found on his 3-month-old son Holden."...baby Holden was brutally beaten.
San Antonio police on Friday arrested a man accused of killing his 7-week-old daughter.
Rafael Trevino, 22, is set to be booked into Bexar County Jail on one count of capital murder. Bail has not been set.
Police Sgt. Jim Cole said officers were called to Trevino's home in the 10400 block of Medio Creek about 7 a.m. Thursday when infant Liliana Trevino was found unresponsive. Her mother discovered she was not breathing, officials said.
Liliana was pronounced dead at the scene, but detectives did not find any signs of foul play or trauma at the home. It was not until the Bexar County medical examiner's office conducted an autopsy that signs of abuse were discovered, Cole said.
An autopsy found that there was cranial, cerebral blunt force trauma basically, head injuries and ruled the death a homicide, Cole said at a news conference Friday night.
