What we are doing is just a drop in the ocean.
But if that drop was not in the ocean,
I think the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.

When you look up East Lynne, MO, it is a tiny place. I can't help but think this abductor knew the child & family.

That picture surely doesn't look like a child with brown hair and brown eyes.

Police said a woman in her 20s or 30s came to the child's home on Thursday morning. The child's mother thought the woman was with the Division of Family Services and gave the child to her.

The child, Syah D. Duffey, is two-year-old white girl with brown hair and brown eyes. The suspect is described as a heavy-set white woman in her 20s to 30s. Syah was last seen wearing a Mickey Mouse shirt and blue jeans. The suspect is described as wearing a gray sweater and blue jeans and driving a white, older-model van with an Iowa license plate. Police think the suspect and child may be going to where the child's father lives in Iowa.

Good lord! How can people fall for this trick repeatedly?? There is NO WAY I would hand over my child to any state or federal officer without SERIOUS just cause and a whole lot of legal preceedings.....and even then I would be kicking and screaming to keep my kids with me.
Not to blame this young mother!! I just don't understand why some people are so trusting and unknowing about CPS and what they do (and DON'T do). Very scary! Praying for Syah and her mommy.

I'm glad LE acted on the Amber Alert and I hope it brings this little girl home.

What makes people think they can steal a child & get away with it?

As the woman was preparing to drive away from the home in East Lynne, she told the mother she was a friend of the toddler’s father.

    further snip

“She had me sign a piece of paper saying I gave her Syah,” said Sharon Duffey, Syah’s mother. “I know now she fooled me. She wasn’t who she said she was and now she’s got my little girl.”

The abduction took place at 202 Broadway.

I hope she's found safe soon. Her mother must be going crazy worrying for her.
