Not sure if this has been posted, I tried a search with no results.

Yale — A mother's disapproval of the 18-year-old man her teenage daughter was dating may have led to the double stabbing Thursday of the girl's parents, police said.

It boggles my mind that people (kids) don't realize the consequences of their actions. Only caring for THEIR wants and needs, not caring about anyone or anything else

Yes, I think this is being talked about here. I will try to find it for ya. Thank god she is going to make it!

I guess I'm wrong, maybe I saw it somewhere else. The Halloween masks stuck out in my head somehow. Maybe I read it on another site. :)

Three times, Mara McCalmon, formerly Skinner, sat in the St. Clair County Courthouse as her daughter Tia was sentenced to spend the rest of her life in prison. The last of the three sentencings came in September 2014, nearly four years after the attack that left McCalmon with more than 25 stab wounds and her husband, Paul Skinner, dead...

Tia Skinner, Jonathan Kurtz and James Preston were all sentenced to life in prison without parole Sept. 16, 2011, just shy of a year after the attack inside the Skinner's Yale home... But that end didn't last long.

A ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court in 2012 that it is cruel and unusual punishment to have mandatory life in prison without parole for juveniles brought McCalmon and her family back to Kelly's courtroom.

Tia was about a month from turning 18 at the time of the attack that she orchestrated, making her a juvenile offender. Kurtz and Preston were both 18 when they broke into that bedroom, stabbing the couple as they slept.
