Oh no! Is it just me, or does it seem like there are a lot of mine accidents recently?
I started out with nothing, and I still have most of it left.

Dramatic footage of the huge Pike River explosion has been shown to miners' families, as officials warn the situation remains too dangerous to mount a rescue

Police Minister Judith Collins said that, at present, a decision had been made: "We cannot risk a rescue crew going in," she said

There has been a second blast at Pike River coal mine this afternoon.

3 News understands Superintendent Gary Knowles confirmed the explosion, saying the operation to locate the 29 miners has now moved into a recovery phase.

Oh, that's terrible news. They don't expect anyone to have survived. I looked at slide show of the men who are trapped, and now presumed dead.

It's very sad. The youngest had just turned seventeen. I feel so badly for their families.

Seems to be hitting everyone involved pretty hard. Grey District mayor Tony Kokshoorn broke down as he left the family briefing.
I started out with nothing, and I still have most of it left.
