Alma Melbourne, 65, of Scotia, has not been seen since around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
She is known to suffer from depression, and rarely - if ever, leaves the house.
The command center in Scotia was set up at the First Reformed Church. Crews are calling off the search at midnight.
Scotia Police say Melbourne has been depressed over some family issues, and hasn't left her Collins Lakefront home for weeks. Worry began when her husband arrived home at 5 p.m. to find her missing.
He says he ate lunch with his wife Tuesday afternoon, and left their house at 108 Collins Street at around 1:30 p.m. When he got home later that night the house was locked, her purse was where she had left it, and Alma was nowhere to be found.
On Tuesday night, a state police helicopter, ground search crews with thermal imaging and infrared equipment and police dogs combed the Collins Lake and Park area. Officials also researched Alma's prescriptions to find out if any extra medication appears to be missing.
Alma's husband says he didn't notice anything unusual when he left the house after lunch.
Alma Melbourne is approximately 5'2" tall, 135 pounds, with grey hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a dark blue sweater, dark blue skirt which went below her knees, and black flat shoes.
If anyone has had any contact with Alma Melbourne, they're asked to call the Scotia Police Department at 374-3110 or Scotia Police Dispatch at 384-2244.
