Mother missing after going for a walk
posted by Dan Boniface 10 mins ago

SILVERTHORNE - For almost 48 hours, a mother of three has been missing in Silverthorne. Police, search and rescue teams and family members are looking for 41-year-old Stephanie Roller Bruner.

Bruner was last seen after her husband says she went for a walk late Monday night around 10 p.m.

Her husband says she left her Silverthorne home and went for a walk taking only her cell phone.

Silverthorne police say they do not suspect foul play.

Her brother, who flew from San Francisco to Colorado, says Bruner has been going through a tough time, recently divorcing her husband.

He says the couple has three children and he just wants her to return home before Thanksgiving.

"We are all going through a lot of pain right now because she is missing and Dale and my family in Minnesota really love her and we want to see her OK. I want to have Thanksgiving dinner with her tomorrow," Aaron Roller, her brother, said.

Wednesday afternoon, Silverthorne investigators, along with Summit County Search and Rescue, started looking for Roller near her home and in areas around Silverthorne.

ETA:

Dale reported her missing Tuesday morning about 8 a.m.
.......................................................

Roller told 7NEWS he doesn't know why his sister would go for a walk so late at night. He did say his sister was having marital problems. He said Bruner had filed for divorce. She had moved out of the house, but then changed her mind and moved back in this past weekend, said Roller.

Roller said police are searching the bike paths and obvious places his sister would have walked. Officers are also interviewing co-workers and Bruner's husband.

Sounds way too familiar...

Hopefully this one will turn out better and maybe she has just tucked herself safely away for a couple of days. :(

Silverthorne Woman Missing In Snow

Stephanie Bruner Disappeared Monday

I noticed the title of this news article and I thought, 10:30pm at night and she takes a walk????
in the snow????
Maybe around the block, but..

This story makes the hair stand up. Divorced husband or soon to be divorced husband say she leaves home at night for a walk.
He doesn't say anything to their daughter.

I am not accusing the husband, but, we have seen this pattern before.
Hoping she is okay.

All JMO.

Well, I do hope she's okay, but I can't help but think 'Here we go AGAIN!'

She was last seen about 10 p.m. Monday when she left for a walk. She was wearing a red jacket, blue jeans and snow boots.

I just checked weatherunderground for the temp in Silverthorne tonite...right now it's 0.5deg F.

Even if it was 30 degrees warmer on Monday nite, it would still be freeeeezing cold outside....even w/ lower humidity - that still seems really cold.

I can't believe how often women go out for a walk late at night...in fact, I don't believe it :(

Well...
Me being a perpetual night owl, I used to venture out for my alone time walks sometimes taking dog between 9:00-10:00 for about an hour snow and all. It would be the quiet of night and pretty stars... just saying some women do or might. I would like to know if it is out of her character to go for night walks?

Trust me, I am also praying hard for a safe return...

If the husband can prove she did this often, great. If she did it a lot, then fine. But in zero temps at that time of night, it seems extremely unlikely. Your skin doesn't do well in those temps. I can't wait to hear if they took dogs out to find her scent. I can't wait to hear they've got cell pings. Silverthorne is a crossroads with a lot of people coming and going, but that's all the more reason to hope it's investigated as foul play. Red flags everywhere for me.

I wonder which house is hers? That lake is literally the backyard for some homes.

I found these of a weird verasaon.com or something like that. Does not tell us much, but we might need it later. Hope not.

Wife goes for walk late at night in freezing temps. Leaves 3 children at home. She never returns....even though its the week of Thanksgiving.

Mmmm....poly for the hubby would be first course of action taken. Second course of action? Find something to arrest him for....and a good, inquisitive detective who's willing to spend some time with him.

<snip>

On Thanksgiving Day, along with Summit County Sheriff's Deputies and volunteers with the Summit County Rescue Group, teams walked the neighborhood where she was last seen and police say a plan is now being set up for a much larger search with more people.

"The plan is: Tomorrow they will put out a statewide request for search and rescue professionals, bring them into this area tomorrow and do a real fine, refined search, looking for any clues or anything that will help us locate her," Hanschmidt said.
