Two people discovered human remains while walking near a stretch of rocky shore in the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area south of Yachats on Wednesday morning, according to Oregon State Police Sgt. Justin McGladrey.

The pair was on a trail west of Highway 101 near Cape Cove when they spotted a body on the rocks near the ocean.

A comment from the 1st link suggests that this could be Michael Ray Myers. He and his wife were swept off of a jetty in Yaquina Bay on Wednesday, 10 November. His wife was found drowned. His body had not been recovered.

A Southeast Portland woman drowned Wednesday and her husband remained missing Thursday after they were swept off of the South Jetty of Yaquina Bay in Newport Wednesday.

The body was positively ID'd as Michael Ray Myers.

Human remains found Nov. 24 in the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area south of Yachats have been identified as those of a Southeast Portland man, the Oregon State Police reported Friday.

I agree, Kimster - it's one of my favorite spots along the coast. The story of these two is absolutely heartbreaking. Just unbelievably tragic. :cry:
