A 62-year-old man has been arrested and charged with raping his daughter for more than 30 years and fathering 10 children with her, in a case "even worse" than that of Austria's Josef Fritzl in 2008, a judge has said.
"The accused denied the allegations but DNA tests have confirmed paternity," Judge Virgilio Palud told local radio.
The man has been charged with repeated sexual abuse and incest, crimes that carry a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, he added.
Judge Palud said another daughter of the suspect also claims to have been raped repeatedly by her father and to have had an abortion before she fled her home in the farming community of Santa Fe province.
The case is the third such shocking father-daughter abuse to emerge in Argentina recently.
so tragic to have to live almost her whole life being raped & threatened by her 'father'...and his max sentence isn't as long as he abused her.
20 Years??? That's all he can get???
The crime went on for over 30.
While this case is horrible, I somehow find the Josef Fritzl case almost beyond belief and much worse.
Snipped from article:
The latest rape and incest case "is remarkable for the amount of violence and the length of time it lasted", but "in Reconquista [near Nicanor Molinas] and northern Santa Fe, sexual abuse within families is commonplace", Judge Palud said.
Commonplace????? And I thought the paragraph before it was disgusting where father had child with daughter and now is molesting his granddaughter. I should have stopped reading there.
I'd love to express my real thoughts, but I'd probably cross TOS line.
I really hope he didn't touch his (grand)children.
ETA: Oh god, I should've read the link first.

it's amazing this girl grew up to be a woman after what she's endured.
Elvira Gomez said she didn't have the courage to report the abuse until now because "since I was a girl he beat me with whatever he had in his hand: a rod or a machete which cut me all over. I spent days in bed."
Her mother died when she was 20 months old, she said.
"Nothing can remove from my head the idea that he did something to her," Gomez said, speaking to the newspaper from her poor home in the village of Nicanor Molinos in Santa Fe province.
She said her eldest son committed suicide before he reached 18 when he learned the truth about his father.
