--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Circumstances of Disappearance
Laura Smith Williams, was last seen at her home in a trailer park located in Connelly, NY on July 25, 1994 by a neighbor. The neighbor stated Williams willingly got into a vehicle parked in front of her trailer around 10 a.m. with 2 unknown white males on the day of her disappearance.
Her residence gave no indication of force or foul play. Williams left behind three children and medication used to control her multiple sclerosis.
At the time of her disappearance, Williams was separated from her husband and the father of her two boys. She was reported missing by her live-in boyfriend and the father of her daughter.
Police believe foul play is likely due to Williams leaving behind her medication, the length of time she has been gone and because she has not turned up in credit card and driver's license databases.

In 2006 a suspect told authorities he was involved in the disappearance of Laura , and the disappearance of Cindy Rowles. He has not ben charged in either case.

Synovial Joint Pathology in her bones, a joint disease which may have caused her to have limited movement and strength in her wrists?

Could this be related to and or multiple sclerosis?

Just found this as I was looking stuff up on KY. Multiple Sclerosis (MS) causes loss of muscle ability and activity. It doesn't deal with the joints in damaging them. However, it is entirely possible that she could have had both and the joint disease not diagnosed because of the MS. They do appear to have very similar eyes and facial features. My grandmother had MS most of her life and she also had joint issues that were unrelated to her MS.

BTW, I think you have two cases mixed up in your second post. The UID Female from Kentucky was found in Nancy, KY in 1995 (remember that because we passed by there to an apple orchard right before she was found -- only about 30 minutes from my parent's house). You have it listed as near Louisville in 2005. Just thought I'd point it out.... sorry if I offended you....

Here is something I found about synovial joints. . .

"Synovial joints (or diarthroses, or diarthroidal joints) are the most common and most moveable type of joints in the body. As with all other joints in the body, synovial joints achieve movement at the point of contact of the articulating bones. Structural and functional differences distinguish the synovial joints from the two other types of joints in the body, with the main structural difference being the existence of a cavity between the articulating bones and the occupation of a fluid in that cavity which aids movement."

This info comes from Wikipedia.

I think if someone had MS, they could also have a (possibly) undiagnosed problem with these joints.

It sounds like you have some good similarities. Since skeletal remains were all that were recovered from the unidentified female, there would be no way to determine whether she had any tattoos, such as the ones Laura Williams had.

You are really getting good at finding these possibilities!

This MP case just showed up in Charley and DoeNet today, and browsing through possible UID's in DoeNet I came across 39UFKY.

Rose Mary West

http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/w/west_rose.html

There are a few discrepancies. RMW is a little taller than the UID's height estimate, her hair is listed as "red", although it appears brown in the photo.

There is also no mention of any physical ailments described of the UID, but the available info is thin on RMW.

RMW appears to have a slight gap between her two front teeth (8 and 9), but since the UID's #8 was missing postmortem, any gap might not have been apparent.

Her last known location (Columbia KY) is only 35 miles down the Luis B Nunn Cumberland Pkwy from where the remains were found (Nancy KY). The timeline is consistent, and her age is at the upper end of the range.

She also bears a pretty close resemblance to the recon.

All in all, this isn't the strongest possible, but a definite "maybe", IMO.

Damn, came to suggest Patricia Calloway but just saw she is ruled out.

And Dawn Haines but she is ruled out too. damn

Came to check in on this case I had bookmarked and see I was the last comment 2 years ago!

A note from Unsolved Appalachia:
**2/26/2019** I’ve emailed NamUs asking for a DNA comparison to be completed between Pulaski Jane and a missing woman named Christie Witcher. I’ll advise later if I ever hear anything.

This has come after multiple attempts between myself and Christie Witcher’s daughter to try and get a comparison done by both the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Ofc and the Allen County Sheriff’s Ofc with no response.

Pulaski County Jane Doe – UNSOLVED APPALACHIA

Can someone check the rule outs list?
