CO - George Aldrich, 28, Aspen, 27 Nov 2010
George Alrich recently moved to Aspen from Rhode Island. There's been no cellphone or credit card activity since he's gone missing.
Police say George Aldrich was last seen late on Saturday, Nov. 27 at Eric's Bar. He routinely used Aspen's public transportation system, but it is unclear if he used it that night.
Aldrich was reported missing on Nov. 29 when he did not show up to work in Snowmass.
"This one's extraordinary because we just haven't had any clues to guide us anyplace except the last place he was seen," Bill Linn with the Aspen Police Department said. "His friends thought that he had probably just gone home with someone else, didn't go home with their group, and didn't put two and two together until Monday morning."

Search team finds no sign of Aldrich
Local law enforcement personnel and members of Mountain Rescue Aspen searched in vain throughout the day Wednesday for a sign of George Aldrich, a Snowmass Ski Area lift operator last seen at Eric’s Bar in Aspen between 10:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on Saturday.
“We have, to the best of our abilities, physically searched every place we think there is a point to searching,” said Bill Linn, assistant Aspen police chief. “And now, we are going to use computers and our brains instead of our feet.”

Family prays for return of missing Snowmass man
By Troy Hooper
Real Aspen – December 5, 2010
A bus rider told authorities that George Aldrich asked her if he was at Snowmass Village and that when she informed him that, no, he was at Truscott, he said something like, “Crap, I'm at the wrong stop.”
He apparently asked the woman for a ride to his apartment in Club Commons but she replied she didn't have a car. The woman said she watched Aldrich walk back towards the bus stop. She told authorities she assumed he was going to wait for another bus or possibly try to hitchhike to nearby Snowmass.

- Where I hang my hat.
There are many forks in the road leading to Snowmass Village from that bus stop. I hope the authorities check these other roads. George may have become hopelessly lost trying to get home. This is a terrible situation. I feel for the family.

ASPEN — The Pitkin County Sheriff's Office is calling on a limited number of residents to report this morning to help canvass “targeted areas of the community” in the search for George Aldrich.
Search organizers are seeking 50 residents “to join members of the law enforcement community at the Brush Creek/Hwy 82 intercept lot at 10 a.m. to search targeted areas of the community,” a sheriff's office press release says. The statement was issued late Wednesday. “We anticipate the search event to last until approximately 2 p.m.”
Sheriff's investigators, after meeting with Colorado Search and Rescue Board experts, “identified areas of the community that could be searched again.”

George's father and brother just appeared on JVM show.
Nothing mentioned that hasn't already been posted here.
It's scary that there are so many missing persons. Everyday we hear about a new missing person.
