Outgoing, fun to be around, artistic and loving.
Those are the words Chloe Courtier used to describe her friend Tyler "Ty" Thomas, a 19-year-old Peru State College student who has been missing since early Friday morning.

They have listed Thomas with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and the FBI has joined the investigation, along with the Nebraska State Patrol and the Nemaha County Sheriff's Office. The investigation also is being assisted by Team Adam, a group of retired law enforcement officers who specialize in bringing national resources to missing person cases.

I read in another article that her friends say that her cell phone was found in her dorm room. I wonder which one is true? Maybe she was texting from someone else's phone?

I was born and raised in Peru, as well as graduated from Peru State. If anyone has any questions about community, terrain, enviornment, etc. I am more than happy to lend insight. Peru is a unique place, it is called Campus of a Thousand Oaks because there are litterally thousands upon thousands of trees. It is also called the little school on the hill because of the abundance of rolling hills. To say it is tough terrain is an understatement!

A 29-year Peru State College student is being held in connection with a missing freshman at the college.

Joshua Keadle, who has been suspended from Peru State, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of false reporting and tampering with evidence, the Sheriff's Office said Thursday.

Tyler "Ty" Thomas, 19, of Bellevue, remains missing six days after she was last seen.

Keadle is in the Nemaha County Jail and is considered a "person of interest" in the case, according to a press release from the Sheriff's Office.

"We remain focused on supporting Tyler's family and our student body during this difficult time," Peru State President Dan Hanson said Wednesday night.

Thomas was last seen about 1:30 a.m. Friday on campus. She was returning to her dorm from an off-campus party.

Later, Thomas sent a text message, saying she did not know where she was. She was reported missing about 3 a.m.

Law officers and volunteers have conducted several searches for Thomas in and around the Peru State campus. The college also has tightened security on campus.

The FBI, Nebraska State Patrol, Nebraska City Police and Otoe County Sheriff's Office are helping with the investigation. A representative of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children also is on campus.

Trained search dogs from STAR1 of Iowa and the Missouri Search and Rescue from the Kansas City area helped in the search for Thomas Tuesday and Wednesday.

"We want to thank all the law enforcement agencies involved. We're grateful for their efforts," said Regan Anson, a college spokeswoman.

Thomas graduated from Bryan High School.

She is 5-foot-5, about 140 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a teal shirt, green sweat pants, a scarf and ear muffs.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call the Nemaha County Sheriff's Office at 402-274-3139.
