Canada - Mike Kozicki, 50, Edmonton AB, 14 November 2010

    Prominent Edmonton realtor missing
It was a normal working day, she recalls, and Mike was on his way to an appointment for a listing. Around 9 p.m., Sylvia received a call from police, informing her that her 50-year-old husband was missing.

According to friends and colleagues, his vehicle was found downtown by the police station. His wallet, glasses and phone were still inside.

Police said they are treating Mike's disappearance as a missing person case, but it's not criminal in nature.

Sylvia is at a loss for words trying to describe the feeling of searching for her husband, who is well-known throughout the real estate and Polish communities.

Mike is the broker/owner of Century 21 Royal Real Estate and has been in the business for 19 years, winning numerous awards along the way.
Terry Townsend worked with Mike for the past 11 years and said he had recently opened his brand new office about four months ago.

He describes Mike as an ambitious person, who made real estate his life. Mike taught him everything about the business when he moved to Edmonton in 1999.

At one point, Townsend said Mike wanted to run for mayor but backed down because he thought his English wasn’t good enough.

The last time he spoke with Mike was in the morning of the day he went missing. He noticed Mike did not sound like his usual self.

“He sounded like someone would sound if they were having a bad day. He was very quiet and usually he’s very upbeat and positive,
” said Townsend, who noted his colleagues are just as puzzled as he is by Mike’s disappearance.

Same article as above (Toronto Sun), though this one has an interesting comment. Thought it was just me thinking there was something odd about this case. So far I haven't been able to find any LE Missing Report on MK (I checked the Edmonton RCMP site), hopefully someone else would be able to find an official LE report / news release.

Him sounding 'different' that morning, seem to indicate he was planning to either commit suicide or walk out of his life ... but WHY? Everything seems fine with his life. I totally agree with T. Townsend: this doesn't make any sense.

Also, leaving his car parked close to a police station seems he didn't want his car vandalized nor stolen. Why not leave it at home?

We need more details about the circumstances leading to his disappearance. Debts? Life insurance? Just thinking out loud ... all JMHO.

So sad, I wonder if he ended his own life

I found this article that stated he was pulled from the river

The body found floating in the North Saskatchewan River last week has been identified.

Mike Kozicki's body was found in the river near Langham on Saturday. The Edmonton realtor went missing last fall. Last November. Edmonton police scoured river banks in that city looking for the missing real estate agent, but found no trace.
