Escondido 'bomb house' - largest stash of explosives in U.S. is burning FINALLY!

    FINALLY!!

My son lives right near here and he said it is not that bad from where he is. He said it started out as a big mushroom and then dispersed.

Authorities on Thursday torched a house on the outskirts of San Diego packed with the largest stash of homemade explosives and bomb-making material ever discovered in the U.S.
Using remotely controlled explosive devices, demolition crews ignited a high-temperature blaze they hoped would incinerate the house in Escondido, Calif., without causing any explosions.

After a final thumbs-up from meteorologists and bomb experts, authorities used a remote-controlled device Thursday morning to set fire to a house on the outskirts of Escondido containing massive amounts of bomb-making material.
The fire was set about 10:57 a.m. upon the order of San Diego County Sheriff Bill Gore.
Bomb squad specialists from local and outside authorities said a quick, hot fire should destroy the dangerous materials without explosions.
