Thumbs up TX Court of Appeals smacks down pedophile - upholds "Jessica's Law"

Coker the pedophile is getting off light w/ his 35 years...that's just barely over 1 year for each year he was abusing children.

I can't lie that I have no sympathy for him & his whining about how life's not fair because he's in prison - hopefully - for the rest of his perverted life.

A state appeals court has affirmed the conviction of a Che*rokee County man for continuous sexual abuse.

Bobby Eugene Coker, who is in his 60s, pleaded guilty to the offense on Sept. 11, 2009 and was sentenced to 35 years in prison. His conviction was affirmed on Wednesday by the Twelfth Court of Appeals.
    ........................

Because prosecutors were able to use the new statute referred to as "Jessica's Law," which took effect Sept. 1, 2007, Coker will not be eligible for parole with the continuous sexual abuse case. Continuous sexual abuse did not exist before the law took effect; offenses before were aggravated sexual assault and indecency with a child.

Beckworth has said Coker's case involves a boy and girl who are about 12 and 11 years old.

The abuse had been going on since the victims were 5 or 6 years old, he previously said, but everything came to light after the boy came forward in the spring of 2008.

Officials later learned that Coker had at least six different victims over a period of 34 years.

What we are doing is just a drop in the ocean.
But if that drop was not in the ocean,
I think the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.
