Portland, Oregon again? You mean the place that has the naked bike parade and prides itself on being weird; the same place were sailors were shanghied in the tunnels and Miranda, Ashley, and Kyron went missing on the outskirts? Sounds like an interesting city.

Sadly,

There is so little information. Why was Matthew going to Portland Oregon? Who if anybody did he know there? What were his moods leading up to his disappearance? It was the day after Christmas in 1984 when Matt vanished? Did the holidays play a role in Matt's decision to leave home?

Are his parents or other relatives still living who may be willing or able to submit DNA to the Missing Children Databases? The answers to any of these questions could open up leads in this case.

Satch

Bumping and wondering before checking to see if Matt was ever considered as Grateful Dead Doe?

Bumping.
Matthew's family must really miss and wonder what happened to him, especially this time of year.

Hoping to find a news article about Matthew, but could not seem to find anything, unfortunately.
From the link, these little details might help identify him..

"Scars/Tattoos: 3 inch scar on his right cheek and old fractures on upper right foot and right elbow
Clothing: Black leather jacket Wilson's house leather, sleeveless black Iron Maiden t-shirt, jeans (waist size 30), black/maroon/gray scarf, Nike tennis shoes size 9 1/2, and a silver chain necklace".

Maybe somebody out there remembers seeing Matthew driving this car, or seeing it abandoned somewhere - who knows, maybe it is just sitting in a lot somewhere?

Bumping for Matthew.. from the Doe N....

This is a good article from 2012, with lots of easily displayed photos, of people missing in the Washington area.

"Counted among the hundreds of missing Washingtonians reported over the years are dozens who vanished under suspicious circumstances and have not been found. Take a look through a collection of Washington missing persons cold cases collected from the early 1960s to 1992"

Bumping for Matthew and wondering if there is any more personal information about him, like his favorite kind of music, or any particular habits.
Was he right or left handed, was he quiet or out-going? What was his interest in going to Oregon, was it to see a girl, or a favorite band?

I don't mean to make light of Matthew's disappearance or judge his lifestyle but as one whose birth date is only three weeks earlier than Matthew's in 1984 just about every kid selling weed on any given street corner was wearing pretty much this exact outfit. Given that Oregon has a long and storied history of cannabis production I wonder if perhaps Matthew didn't get murdered in Portland by weed producers who took one look at a kid who was 5'7" 135# and figured they might as well keep the weed and the money too.

Wishing they would release more photos of Matthew and his car.
