SC - Baby daughter taken along on bank robbery

Clutching her 1-year-old daughter, Natalie Casdorph cried as she described her fiance, one of three men accused of robbing a Charleston bank and fleeing police with a toddler inside the getaway car. Dewayne Lashan LaMarr, 25, of Randolph Street is a doting dad who loves his daughter, but he had been frustrated recently because he couldn't find a job, she said.

"It's not like her father to be so careless," she said Thursday as she held her daughter in front of Charleston Police Department headquarters. "Nothing's worth putting your child in this position. There's not enough money in the world."

LaMarr and two other men allegedly entered the BB&T branch bank at 1124 Fledderjohn Road about 11:10 a.m. Thursday, displayed guns and demanded money, according to police reports.

Police think one of the men was wearing a mask similar to the one used in the "Scream" movies.

When the suspects' getaway car crashed after a high-speed chase on nearby Jefferson Road, police say they found LaMarr's daughter, Lanya, in the back seat. The child was not in a seat restraint, but she was not injured.
