A source at the crime scene told KTVU the woman's throat was slit. She had also been shot and there were defensive knife wounds on at least one arm.
The killer also left Jane Doe in an undignified state. Her chest was exposed, her black blouse pulled down to her waist and her fuschia colored pants also pulled down. She was still wearing high-heeled black boots.
An unopened condom was found at the scene.
Investigators said a crucial step in finding her killer is finding out her identity.
Jane Doe appears to be a heavy-set, African-American woman in her 20s or 30s. Police said they have no missing person report that fits the description.
The woman was found about 4:20 p.m. Tuesday in a channel between the airport and Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline, police said.
The body was spotted at 4:18 p.m. on the Oakland side of the estuary near Doolittle Drive and Harbor Bay Parkway. Alameda police were the first on the scene and called investigators in Oakland, who recovered the body.

Gosh this is so awful to read how she was left. And just before Christmas.
It sounds like no missing persons reports to match her or give LE any leads. Let's hope with the Holiday upon us someone will be missing her and report her missing. As difficult as this will be when she is id'd I want to see her get home.

Tuesday's victim was identified by police Friday as Jasmine Jordan. Even though she is a Fresno resident, she had visited Oakland in the past, authorities said.
A relative in Fresno told Oakland police she last talked to Jordan last week.
It was initially reported Jordan was shot and stabbed, but an autopsy determined she had only multiple stab wounds.
