The mother of the victim has no custody and is only allowed to see the victim on supervised visits. While at the mother's parents' house for supervised visitation, the mother took the child and left the house and is refusing to return the victim or give her location. The family is reporting the mother is under the influence of controlled substances. The child is also without medication (non-life threatening). The mother initially had some contact with family via phone, but has since ceased all contact. The mother's address is currently listed as transient but she has ties to Kitsap, Jefferson, and Clallam counties. There was a possible sighting of the mother in the Bremerton area as recently as the evening of 12/27/2010.

Circumstances: The Port Townsend Police Department is looking for an abducted child. The child, Silas Rodriguez, is an 8 year old white male, 4'9" and 49 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes.
The suspected abductor is Tiffany Rondeau, a 31 year old white female, 5'10" and 170 lbs., with brown hair and blue eyes. Tiffany Rondeau has a tattoo on her neck and a tattoo on her left leg. The suspect may be traveling in a 1987 white Honda Accord with Washington plates of 208XNE or possibly a 1992 maroon Dodge Caravan with Washington plates of 169PVW.

Rodriguez was allegedly taken by his biological mother, Tiffany Rondeau, who has no parental rights, according to information provided by a JeffCom dispatcher. The JeffCom phone number, 385-3831, ext. 1, was listed in an automated telephone call carrying the alarm which went out Monday evening.

PORT TOWNSEND, Wash. -- An Amber Alert issued at about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday for a missing 8-year-old boy has been canceled.
The boy was found safe in Bremerton, the Washington State Patrol said.

Why is this boy's "mother" allowed to see him at all, supervised or not?
