We are not going to discuss this woman's appearance here at WS. We are way above that here.

We don't get to pick what we look like (unless we have as much money as Oprah) and it really has no bearing on the crime or her potential culpability.

DO NOT speculate on the suspect's sex or gender. She has been named as a woman.

DO NOT post something saying "I think this is the same person..." with a link. If you don't know if it is the correct person, do not post it!

No name calling, dear posters!

REMEMBER - There is to be NO sleuthing of Jonathan's family at this time. If anyone is named as a POI or suspect, ONLY THEN may they be sleuthed. (This includes our current suspect. WAIT until she is named before posting information.)

DO NOT speculate on the suspect's sex or gender. She has been named as a woman.

DO NOT post something saying "I think this is the same person..." with a link. If you don't know if it is the correct person, do not post it!

How did a boxer-turned-maintenance-worker, with an extensive criminal record relating to robberies/drugs/violence, end up MURDERING and burning an innocent, precious, 12 year old boy from the Ozarks named Jonathan Foster? :(

Rest in Peace, Jonathan

I also want to know WHY she visited the mom that night? Why was she there? Pretend support? A drop in----or more like to be nosey of what was going on?

Mona Nelson has made what investigators call a self-serving statement, which places her with Jonathan. However, she has not admitted to killing him," said HPD spokesman Kese Smith. "She is the only suspect".

A break in the case came when Nelson's Ford F-150 truck was spotted on surveillance video taken from an office building near the culvert.

Investigators spent hours Wednesday questioning Nelson. They believe she took Jonathan to her home near US-59 and Laura Koppe, where she likely killed him and burned his body, said HPD homicide investigator Mike Miller.

He said a search of Nelson's house turned up an "incredible amount of evidence" that points to Nelson as the killer, but investigators are still trying to discern her motive.

"That's the million-dollar question," Miller said.

NOTE****

Anyone following this case MUST read this article, omg. :(

On Friday morning, both Davis and Ennamorato had to work, and Jonathan was going to stay home alone until his mom could make it home, around 1 or 2 p.m. They said they left Jonathan with specific instructions: He was not to leave the house, which is nestled next to an apartment complex on Oak Street in northwest Houston.

If he had any problems, he should run next door and tell his neighbor. :(

Davis had moved into the little cottage with Ennamorato on Dec. 14, after she and Jonathan's stepfather, David Davis, split up. She said he had gotten angry and slapped the boy. Davis considered taking Jonathan to her mother's house, she said, but she didn't want to uproot him when he'd just started classes at Durham Elementary School in November.

I've been following the threads on sweet Jonathan and I'm a local. Not sure if it's been posted yet but Mona's arrest is now posted on the Harris County's district clerks website. This is the latest activity, please let me know if I'm not allowed to post this.

'That night, she said, Nelson stopped by the house. She told Davis she had come to the house that morning looking for Ennamorato, and that Jonathan had answered the door wearing no shirt, and it seemed like someone was in the house with him.

This entire article, heartbreaking. Everyone here should read it.

I wanted to bring two my posts over from the end of the other thread b/c I think they're important. I'm infuriated that this person had access to possibly 100's of apartments. :furious:

Wow. That's a scary thought...... keys to the apartments? Several complexes? Anyone EVER do a background check on this person?!? ::thud::

Sorry to quote myself, but I wonder if there are grounds for a civil case here against the apartment complex. (ETA: I guess they would have to prove that Mona was able to get access to JF through having keys to the apartment from being a manager or whatever).

ETA: My 2nd post about the civil case may be moot if they weren't living there at the time. What confusing info is out there! Thanks for all the clarifications - it seems that we're finally understanding where all this happened.

BBM Below: So, if Mona Nelson was a maintenance worker for the apartments, then she likely had keys to let herself in. Robbery very well could have been the original motive in this heinous crime.

Nelson, who is a maintenance worker for several different apartment complexes in Houston, met Jonathan’s stepfather a few weeks before Christmas and was just getting to know the rest of the family, investigators said.

Searching court documents 11 News Reporter Jeff McShan discovered Nelson’s most serious crime was a robbery she committed back in 1984. She served a 10-year probated sentence.

Ok, what am I missing, I am still confused about who lived where.

In the video linked below (after the 2:00 mark) reporter Jennifer Bauer (yes, the same Jennifer Bauer from J'ville channel 4 who covered Haleigh and Somer's cases) says the owner of the brown home (SE) shown in the video said that is where Jonathan was when he disappeared. He was in the home by himself and was gone between 1:30 and 2:30.

Then a clip is shown of the apartment complex and she says that is where JF's SD lives and where MN was when she went with LE to be questioned.

Jonathan and his mother were not living at the apt. complex and Jonathan was not at the apt. complex when he was taken so what does Mona having keys to the apts. have to do with his abduction? I don't think the home Jonathan and his mom were living in and he disappeared from had any affiliation to the apts., it is owned by SE.

The story about Jonathan being at a sitter's (SD?) and going home to get a game is false, correct? He was never with a sitter, he was at SE's home by himself while mom and SE were at work.
Did SD check on him right before he disappeared or was that story also false?

I think Chron.com has done the best reporting on this case so far - if that makes sense.

Kudos Chron, and thank you.

IMO JF called his mom secretly since there was an "emergency" (MN in the apt), MN got wind of this and called her back making sure that was who he called. Then left with the boy. I dont believe this was over drugs or anything like that (as in her calling to make sure she has the right child). I think he was reaching out for help which backfired on him :-(

I hope this is not out of line with WS but she is a criminal. By her past, by her nature. Criminals commit crimes. I hope there is nothing more than a sad paltry monetary goal. But on the other hand, nothing NOTHING excuses the life of a precious innocent child.

<MODSNIP: Please read 1st post in this thread>

And criticism. Oh and have I mentioned lately how much this board means to me. I have had poster's block in like, forever, and here we are again on a sad tragic "but for" case...

By "but for", I think most posters reading my latest posts, know what I mean, but I guess, it is what it is. I just get upset because here is another innocent who appeared to be doing well, but for the last month of his life...and it makes me sad. Sad for his mother...sad for him the most...sad for his family who so lovingly raised him where she could not...just sad. There is absolutely nothing happy here. Just sad...and void. Bless her family, bless her and above all bless that boy. And because it was how I was raised, I pray for his killer, that that person may not harm the family at all, because they are the grieving ones, they are the ones crying, they are the ones harmed...that they may forgive so that that soulless person may have NO power over them whatsover in this life.

I can't quite grasp all of this yet. Why take and kill this precious little boy ? What did he do to this woman.

I'm still wondering about the stepfather. I don't want to anger anyone but I still have suspicions about him. He saw Jonathan at 1:45. Was he allowed to go over and check on him? Was he one of the emergency contacts in case there was a problem or was he considered one of the problems? This breakup is such a timing coincidence and most of us on here don't like coincidences.

I'm confident that LE has arrested an involved party of the disappearance, murder and disposal of poor Jonathan. I just have some lingering doubts about her being the only person involved. JMO

Who knows why MN went to SE's duplex? I wonder if that was unusual or if she thought nobody would be home. He could've just let her in or she could've easily bullied her way in if he just opened the door a crack. (And that's why I tell my kids to NEVER open the door but they don't always do as told.) So senseless to kill this poor, innocent child.

Very sorry for the family's loss. I think AD has made some poor decisions in her life but she sure didn't deserve this.

JF's aunt told us in the previous thread that her husband was interviewed by ABC News today. Here's the link to the story with his interview:

http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?section=news/local&id=7869821

For four years, Jonathan lived with Scrimsher, his wife and their five children on their farm in Missouri.

"Jonathan was a wonderful kid. He was like my son," said Scrimsher.

He says though Jonathan was a little behind for his age, he thrived with his family. At 6 years old, they took him in, off his mother's hands.

When we asked him how Jonathan's mother was not capable, Scrimsher said, "Narcotics, drugs, alcohol; just wasn't fit to take care of him," said Scrimsher.

OmG! This is just heartwrenching about mom and blood boiling at the gall of Mona to come to their home that night and make the statements below...sociopath...

Then a woman called back, saying it was an emergency. By the time Angela made it to the phone, she said, the line was dead.
Concerned, Angela called the house phone again and again as she drove to the cottage, she said. Someone picked up just minutes before she pulled up around 2 p.m.
A woman answered, she said, and Angela identified herself and asked to speak her son. She heard a woman say: "Is your mama's name Angela?" she said.
And she heard Jonathan say: "Yes ma'am, my mama's name is Angela." And then the phone went dead.
When she opened the door moments later, cartoons were still on the TV, and a game was up on the computer screen. A can of Tootsie rolls sat on the computer desk.
"I hollered, 'Jonathan, mama's home! Where are you?'" There was no answer.
"The only thing missing in this house is his tan T-shirt with a guitar on it, a pair of jeans, his white sneakers and his black stuffed cat that my grandmother made him," Davis said. "There was no struggle."
That night, she said, Nelson stopped by the house. She told Davis she had come to the house that morning looking for Ennamorato, and that Jonathan had answered the door wearing no shirt, and it seemed like someone was in the house with him.

Would the apt. complex have some sort of incinerator MN would have access to?

It is loathe and despicable enough to take someone's life let alone desecrate them through burning or dismemberment. I will never understand that mindset.
