Really, his sentence should never end.
If a triple murder of this type doesn't justify a whole of life sentence I don't know what does.

I totally agree...if someone takes another's life/lives the guilty should NEVER be freed...full stop, end of story, case closed. But, I believe it is the case that the law is providing a glimmer to those convicted to encourage a straight guilty plea. A straight forward plea then saves untold stress/impact upon anyone who is a victim/involved, plus, the ugly truth, it also save enourmous amounts of money to process such cases. I don't necessarily agree with this theory but I understand where it is coming from.

Very long article on this tragedy, written and published for SA Police Blueprint magazine.

    http://www.sapolicenews.com.au/more-...-a-killer.html

When Andrew didn't arrive for an appointment the next day, the alarm was raised. Kapunda-based officer Senior Constable Justin Doherty was first to the house. "I got to the front door and I looked through the side window, there was blood everywhere. The door was unlocked. I walked through the house to see if anyone was alive. But it was obvious no-one could have survived this. I was in shock. I just froze. It was horrendous," Senior Constable Doherty said.
Haven't read it"all yet, wanted to share.

Very informative. This overview of the SAPOL investigation is helpful to take a retrospective look at it all. Well done SAPOL and all those SES and other members of the community and Forensic Teams who worked with you on this horrific case. My opinion only.

Yep that's the way we roll down here.

    It can be incredibly frustrating.

I take consolation that as a Scottish citizen, this freak will be paroled then sent straight back to where he came from.

I'm sure the Scots amongst us won't be too thrilled about that.

Oh my gosh I can't believe it's for sale. How horrible : ( Imagine sleeping in that house if you knew what had happened there.

I came across an article today that I had to add here.
Very sad to read some details I was unaware of.
I still think of Chatelle,Rose and Andrew and Christopher too.
I hope the police also received proper help to overcome what they must have seen : (

What is with the PHOTOS!!!! It's like they took shots of the carpet deliberately .. it's weird, they could have shown photos of the rooms, but they've got weird images of corners of the floor etc. ODD. It's actually weird, but it's almost exactly as I imagined it except a mirror image.

I am watching CI on Foxtel and the next program is about this case.

    Evil Up Close

Jason Alexander Downie superficially seemed settled in Kapunda, South Australia. He had moved with his family from the Kilmarnock in Scotland in 2006. But behind the sun glasses he liked to wear, there was turmoil. He wanted to date a local girl call (it cuts off there)

    Will be watching!!!
